Your choice of words like 'shut your mouths' and the reference(national/international/communities)are totally uncalled for

-further such posts will be deleted and your further behavior on the forum would be monitored.Play safe.

I had to write words like 'shut your mouths' because some people started talking about Honda Jazz interiors as 'cheap'. The article DID indeed shut their mouth.

You didn't don't get what I mean.... you JUST CAN'T compare a Korean product or a with a Japanese car. Its like comparing a product made in Pakistan with something made in India.

Whats wrong with that?

You finally guessed it right.

The Jazz has features no other premium hatchback has. Its for people who need features like a huge boot space after folding the rear seats, tall and long mode.

Jazz is not for people who compare it with a sedan. It falls in a different category.

How does one conclude that its going to be a 'rip' without even know what features its gonna haveat 7 lacs.  TOI does not talk whether its going to be the base model at that price or high end model.

For all you know, you'd be getting all hig-end features like parking sensors, fog lamps, ABS, Airbags, etc in that price. So lets not jump to conclusion so soon.

If you are planning to buy a car, my advice - Keep your options open but do keep a watch on the Honda Jazz.

It is in the Times Of India dated 5/5/09 with interview of their CEO . He also stated that Honda City will remain their main product inspite of having Jazz in their future product range. Also Jazz will share few components with City. It just shows that even Honda is not expecting big numbers from Jazz.

Ashish Naik.

Have you though why the CEO said that ? Have you thought why Honda would launch a product if they don't expect it to sell in big numbers ?

These statements have nothing to do with the Honda Jazz being ridiculously priced.

Its because -

Honda knows the Indian market and the general Indian consumer mindset. The general mindset is 'if i spend 7 lacs, I should get a sedan. Whether I need a sedan or not is secondary. But at that price is has to be a big car. Whether the interior is of a  certain quality / standard is secondary. Safety - I don't care much. Height adjustment - not needed, i can use a pillow instead'.   Like an analyst said from the article in ET - 'A big car is considered to add to status'.

This is the reason though a Honda City is also priced high, it sells well - bcoz its a sedan. Jazz will not sell in big numbers because it falls in the hatchback segment - though it may have features not found in a Honda City.

But it will definitely have takers whose requirement matches that of a Jazz.

NO hatchback can give you the headroom and legspace that a Jazz can give you. NO hatchback can give you a tall mode and long mode at the same time except Jazz.

And please, don't talk about getting a sedan at that price. Sedan falls in a different category altogether.

"By posting such statements you will invite people to opine about the Jazz. Almost all sedans in the Jazz's price range will be having a bigger boot."

Dude - can you fold the rear seats of any sedan and fit in stuff that you see in the Jazz commercial on youtube ?

"You started this thread enquiring about the 'advanced booking' on the Jazz to which a lot of members responded and posted their opinion on.

If you are not interested in 'anyone's opinion' about the Jazz why do you keep responding to them(even posting a review-that too scanned!-for what?). Kindly get off the thread and have a life."

I don't understand why people have to give advice to someone who has already decided to buy a Jazz.

So all I wanted to know was the advance booking date. The rest can have a life including you Mr. Moderator. Why are you so jealous if someone has the extra money to buy a Jazz? Whats your problem ?

Start a seperate thread on why one shouldn't buy a Jazz for all I care. I'm going to make sure I participate in that thread.

Deepak, don't think Binoy is envious, he's the moderator here and has expertise, that's why he controls the discussion, you may pl check up websites like "BBC top gear", "whatcar", "honestjohn", "verdictoncars" etc. You would get an idea that while Jazz is of course on top, other superminis like i10 and swift are also considered to be on the top level. therefore if someone really doubts the huge price differential between Jazz and i10 or swift or even with i20 what's wrong in it? is that worth that difference is the question. In fact 'whatcar' gives better score to i10, swift, i20, yaris and Grande Punto than Jazz, so what's so great in Jazz with the huge price differential is the question Santhanam

in fact whatcar rates Ford Fiesta as the best buy, Hyundai i20 2nd, Fiat 500 3rd and Suzuki Swift 5th, Honda Jazz is down the list, pl see that website and decide whether one should be emotionally blind for a Jazz

There should be some basis of questioning the huge price difference. First things first, nobody know what Honda has to offer in the 7 lacs that TOI / ET has quotes. It could be features that are found in Fabia Elegance. In that case 7 lacs in a very good deal.

Whats so great in Jazz? Go read the article I scanned from Autocar India just for people like you. You'll know how Jazz is different. I don't say its a great car, it just meets my requirements which no other hatchback does.

Btw, do YOU know when the advance booking starts for this car ?
