It looks like the process of issuing NOC varies from place to place.  Can some one explain the correct process. I am looking for information for the following RTO

1. Gurgaon

2. Hyderabad

3. Pune

The general procedure that I'm aware of is...

You need produce in RTO an NOC from local Police Deptt / LCB, RC Book, PUC Certificate, Address/evidence of residence at the place of relocation, purpose of relocation / employer's transfer certificate etc., and fill up the requisite forms / pay the fees.

Hope someone is able to post some info on finer details.

Step3: Submit request letter, Challan reciept xerox, RC xerox and eseva form at Police commissionarate at Gachibowli (if registration is renga reddy dst).

STEP4: After 3 to 4 days get clearance from Police Commissionarate office - Gachibowli.

STEP5: Submit original RC, clearance - traffic police, clearance - police commissionarate, form28 (3 nos), 1rs stamp (3 nos), xerox of RC, insurance, pollution certificate at RTO office at Attapur. (if registration is AP12 or registered in renga reddy dst).
NB: Take a pencil with you so that you can take the chassis print on the form 28.
RTO Office, Attapur, Ring road, straight road from nanalnagar bus stop in mumbai road.

STEP6: Next day get noc from rto office, attapur.

All the best...

Welcome to carwale Srikanth.

Once you purchase the car you will have to get an NOC for it from Delhi and reregister it in Hyderabad by paying the road taxes and filling up the required forms. Hope this helps

It is paid by the first owner but in Delhi I suppose. These taxes are associated with the state and if you plant to change the state of registration you definitely need to pay the tax.

I had bought a WagonR in feb 2010 while I was at hyderabad. But i was transferred to chennai in Oct 2010. So i completed all the formalities of obtainin NOC from hyd to chennai. Now I am getting relocated to Mumbai (APril 2011). As i did not reregister my car in chennai, Can you pls guide me on the process of getting my earlier NOC from hyd to chennai cancelled and obtaining a NOC from hyd to mumbai, after paying entry tax in chennai. How many days time does it need in hyd? Can i go myself or do i need to take my car too to hyd?

Welcome to carwale Lj.

I am not completely sure but I think you can use the same NOC to get the car registered in Mumbai. Better check with an RTO agent in Mumbai about the exact details. Also check if the NOC has any expiry by any chance.

The NOC obtained from hyd is only meant for chennai. This NOC cannot be used in any other state. So definitely, I need to get a different NOC from hyderabd to mumbai. But i wanted to know finer details. www.transportindia.in is quite a useful site. But not for my case. Anyway, Thanks!
