Guys finally after wait of more than 6 weeks i got my Fiat Linea Emotion pack Petrol - Perla Champgne.

Have driven the car for around 120kms, though most of the driving was done by my brother. I drove for around 20kms. I did not feel the lag much, though i found car heavier when ac is switched on. But all in all the car gives you great feel.

Stearing is good, i felt shockers to be extremly good. Havnt checked the other features that much. The thing is, the car has so much to it, so many features that i dont understand if i should drive the car or see the features

When i was driving it yesterday, everybody was turning back and looking at the car....ppl were chasing..following, driving infront, even a biker got so lost looking at the car, he almost collided with the car. I thought its me being admired...than i realized ofcourse its LINEA....so much Admiration

There are few things which i think linea owners can answer -

# Did you get Code Card with they keys? i saw in the booklet that u will get a code card which can be used to order duplicate keys.

# I have ipod touch 2g, can i connect that to usb? i think only ipod nano and classic can be connected.

# How much time does the RC of the car takes? I have not got the insurance copy yet as well.

As i get more hands on to the car, i will post detailed review.

Here are few initial pics, will post more soon.

Thanks for all your help Guys.

Try connecting the itouch via the ipod cable to the USB. (I am not sure if the player supports ipod via USB).

Congrats for your new arrival and welcome to LINEA club.

Very Good colour, even I have the same colour, I suggest you to get hte Teflon coating done, it will stil enhance the looks.

I know how it feels when you are the wheels, the Admiration on the streets. Enjoy it .

Yes, I got the key code card, which was given to me during the delivery of the car, check with the dealer.

Hey Sahiba,

The USB can be connected, the point is in the glow box. On the right side inside the glove box.

Cheers

Happy Driving the Linea

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

Sorry for the delay in review guys, i got too carried away with my linea

OK, now i have driven the car for 1000+ kms, took it to chandigarh last weekend.

I will break my review into 4 sections - Exterior, Interior, Performance and Journey.

Exterior -

The looks smashing, no doubts. The body lines and body dynamics are so well taken care off. The front grill gives the car Aston martin look. And the back lights have been made simpler, but very surprisingly beautiful. Many ppl have complemented that it looks like an imported car. The length of the car adds to all the beauty. The side mirors are adequatly sized and give good view.

Just a thing i noticed is the Backlights extend up into the boot area. One of the rear light of my car developed a crack because of the boot being closed with pressure. So, there should have been rubber around the lights protecting them from damage.

Interiors

Interiors are perfect and complements the exterior. The rear headroom is adequate for my family atleast. The rear seating capacity is brilliant and can house 3 ppl very comfortably. Leg room is ample. The driver seat though ppl have said is not comfortable, but i feel its just that you get in habit off, you will find it fine and comfortable.

Stereo system i feel is good, but speakers are not very good. The voice cracks at high volume. Also, i could not connect my ipod touch 2g with USB. It does not supports it i guess. Only ipod classic and schuffle are supported. Blue n me works perfect.

AC works adequately and cools the environment quite fast.

The designing of interiors is highly impressive as they have taken care of small small things.

Performance

Ok this is the thing many ppl are concerned about.

I agree the car has initial lag under 2k rpm or when trying to pickup from 2nd gear under 2k rpm ,but it is not felt if the AC is off, also if 2 ppl are sitting in the car with AC. So, all in all it does not matters.  Car gives you very comfortable ride with adequate pickup and acceleration. I dont think anybody would want a race car on indian roads, else you would crash in the bumper of car ahead...just kidding.

The car races once on 3rd gear.....i reached speed of 140 effortlessly.

Stearing is brilliant and handling is as good as it can be. You feel that you are driving a small car with great stearing...but reality is your are driving a big monster.

Mileage - The car avg consumptions showed 8 throughout my jouney on highway. I drove the car to speeds of 100-120. Though when i manually calculated the mileage came out to be 12 on highway. Surprisingly in the city the avg consumption meter shows 16-17, why did it give 8 on highway im confused. Will anybody explain?

Journey

It has been a great ride so far. The car has got excellent braking system...excellent shockers and above all unmatched features. My whole family was so comfortable throughout 900km journey, with no complaints for space...ac or bumps on the road.

Im so glad i bought this car. It has everything i could ask for.

The readout would be in liters/100km and not km/liters. so in the city 16-17 liters per 100kms and on the highway 8 liters for covering 100kms-seems logical.

If i am not mistaken there is a adjustment to set the readout to measure in kms/liters-do see the manual.

So the FE figures in your case would be

city-6.25kmpl

highway-12.5kmpl(which your manual calculation also proves).
