Wanted advice on refurbishing a Fiat Padmini or an AMBY

Hi...

Long time it has been a decision for me to get a new car; but unfortunately due to continuous commitment, i was not even able to make a fresh new 800 itself .  Now it is final and i have decided to buy a second hand car. But i sense why not buy a old Fiat or an Amby for about 25K to 30 K and then have it completely refurbished. At the max i might use if for about 2 yrs and then go for a new one once my pockets are full again . i have few q? listed below:

If i buy a Fiat Padmini or an Amby for 25 K, how much will it costs for having the engine refurbished.

What would be approx cost of having the interiors replaced, along with the bucket seats.

Can i have the Gas kit option done at the same time.

If all these are carried out, will the car be advisable for long rides like 1000 Km or close to 1500kms twice in a year.

Very well i can go for a second hand Maruti car for the same price, but not that interested in this option.

Would appreciate, if you could throw some light on the same.

Well, in my opinion, go for it if you find a car with the engine in good shape. Do enquire about engine refurbishment costs with local garages. If you can manage to get a car for 25-30k, engine refurbished for around 25k (that's just a wild guess!!), and the car itself refurbished for say another 30k (electricals, brakes, etc plus any minor dents/painting), you have a car for 75-80k (1 lac max), which you can use for perhaps 3-4 years...so if you can pull it off nothing like it.

Or save the trouble and buy a Nano!!

Oh yeah!!! Totally missed that...but then if he can get an Amby for that money...

Nano is good option, but you see after thinking of all cars like Getz, swift, Astar, i10 etc.... for such a long time my heart doesn't feel to say "Go for a Nano", But mind do so.......

how much will 4 new wheels with Alloys of(moderate cost) will cost for an Amby.....
