Its a bit more complex to modify manual vehicles and this will cost you more than the roughly 10k required for converting Automatics.
We had gone around looking for such alternatives for my father-in-law and the ball-park figure for converting a Manual vehicle was in the region of 30-35k while that for the automatics was in rhe region of about 10k.
Some people here have asked why it costs so much as it is basically a cable job. I would say that its worth getting a job done well at a higher cost than to get some slipshod jugaad done as the life of the person driving depends on the quality of the job. The driver is already handicapped and his reflexes may be much slower - a well thought-out and designed piece of work with the least chance of failure would be desirable in such cases and believe me its worth paying that much more.
PS: We finally settled on an i10 Kappa Sportz automatic and paid Rs.10k for the modification. I'm still not happy with the quality of finish, but the linkages are sturdy and the modification looks very well built.
Keep those wheels turning!
