the EBD system controls the brake force given to the rear wheels and hence is an addition to the ABS.

EBD regulates brake force on all wheels and not only the rear wheels and works irrespective of of the brakes being drum or disc.

oh gr8!.. thats what i was just about to discuss coz EBD comes with 4 wheel ABS as well.. and then this philosophy of EBD on drum is ruled out.

thanks..

Mazda MX-5 comes with 4 wheel ABS+EBD, (4 wheel disc).. also Toyota FJ Cruiser and audi Q7.

might be others as well...

felt like posting this one Smile

EBD usually comes with ABS. Most new cars offer it as an option or/and in the top-end versions

Obviously you will find the details in manufacturer specs.

EBD is a kind of rudimentary traction control.

EBD does not come as an option, but car makers do offer both together as a single option.

Traction control parse will be the norm in the coming years.

Traction control is still not seen on any of the mid segment cars upto range of 15lacs. However, Traction control is something that will not be very useful unless there is a rear wheel drive. That's my assumption. Correct me if i am wrong on this.
