Hi Puneet,

I am using Fiesta TDCi since almost 2 years (April 2007) and one of my friend is using Fiesta 1.6 petrol. Just because I am using Diesel I can tell you alot better about the diesel one, its damn good a car, well If you want Great Power? Fiesta is not for you but Fiesta is having decent power for city as well as highway use. I have good enough highway journey experience too and my brother's experience is too much, he travelled alot and maximum distance he covered in one journey is 3200 kms. and Lucknow-Delhi-Punjab-Jammu-Udhampur-Patnitop-Katra and back to lucknow via delhi with 5+1 (kid) and got mileage over 21kmpl with a.c. and he told me that he drove more than 60kms on no road (stone road). I am posting here and my bro is in Delhi, Infact this time I told him to check out alloys, spoiler & wooden touch interiors there, I like the spoiler of 1.6S but this one is not available in Delhi.

I am very happy with the performance of Ford Fiesta and in Ride & handling Fiesta is the best whether you are driving in city traffic or you are driving it over 120kmph on highway. Maintenance is also cheap (till date), I compared last few services and regular service is cheaper than even Maruti Suzuki. Build quality is very good.

Fiat Linea is the best from Fiat till date but Fiat's image is not good here in India. Linea is having more features than Fiesta.

I tend to disagree. I own a Linea Petrol, live in Mumbai, and am extremely satisfied with the way the car picks up. You just need to get used to it!! I definitely think the Linea is a great car to own.

Linea is a VFM - pricing vis-a-vis the package. Pick-up/acceleration isn't very peppy (like Fiesta or SX4) but has good engine/technology & performs very well.

Dear Puneet,

If you compare feature by feature, Linea could be a preferred model.

I have tracked TATA/Fiat dealership sale/service readiness for the last 1-2 months, they shows sign of remarkable comeback this time.

Anyways earlier I was about to book Honda City , but finally I have booked Linea Petrol Emotion Pack.

If you compare this car featurewise with any other car , being compared like SX4, FIESTA,City, Verna, after lot of analysis I found Linea scoring and appeared to be value for Money.

Regarding resale value, its certainly a weak point since the LINEA brand is new and just born. w.r.t Resale Value & Brand image HONDA CITY is the best. But for this one pay a lac more for lesser features.

Another subject of talk could be Engine of FIAT. I have booked the car after many Test Drives.

Hi every one i am new to this site. Read few of the comments and found really useful.

I have a budget of 7-8 lacs and want to go for either Ford fiesta or Fiat linea. Linea really looked good but not sure about its after sale service , resale value.

Please give your valued feedback.

People say turbo lag related sluggishness of Linea Diesel is noticeable below 2k rpm... Is this true for all turbo-diesel vehicles?

Yes. It is less evident in Verna, I guess it is due to the VGT available there.
No idea about petrol turbos (like Skoda VRs)

The initial sluggishness would be forgotten once the turbo kicks in. It is a lovely feeling.

Honda city travels only 188km/h but linea travels 220km/h.very awesome and powerful car is the linea. It has the best interior compared to ford fiesta and hondacity or sx4.More stylish than the three and city's i-vtec engine has a bad top speed. It can even overtake lancer cedia which travels 210km/h.The accord 2.4 mt and at are slower than linea.Get it and feel the speed.I say linea is best in perfomance because it has an italian engine which is very powerful.

Disadvantages of linea:

1)pricey

2)No sunroof

3)No automatic transmission

Linea 1.4 16v t-jet rules
