I just bought a new Hyundai i20 Asta but i have some questions regarding it::

1. The remote transmitter based keyless entry system does not give a tweet while blinking on and off. Is this a defect or a latest feature?

2. I have the Asta - without options model/variant. On various brochures and even in the manual I see glove box lamp. In my car there is a vacant hole at the place where the glove box lamp switch and the lamp should be. I wanted to know does the Asta model/variant have it or did I get a car which overlooked fixing the glove box lamp?

thanks in advance!!

@ aditi, welcome back,

comgratulations for ur new car.

the keyless entry is fine as company fitted remote entries doesnt make sounds while locking or unlocking in any car.

& for the glovebox lamp, it would be better if u ask the showroom guy, he will help u out with the features & its functions.

Thanks Deepam for your calrification on keyless entry. But I was thinking isnt a tweeting sound more safe than having no sound at all??

Also regarding the glovebox lamp - i just wanted to gather info on it before confronting the dealer guy. I have spent quite some time mind wrestling with him and wanted to have all the info before locking horns with him again....as he is quite a fast and slippery guy and one always gets a feeling he is taking u for a ride!! so just to be careful!!

the glovebox lamp means when u open the glovebox that is the box on the leftside under the dashboard it should lit it up, if it doesnt lit up than ask the showroom guy & if one person doesnt respond u well than ask some other guy or contact the manager of the showroom.

Hey, that glove box is not supposed to be sans a light...thats for sure. You need to wrestle this out from your Hyundai dealer....as for the tweet in your car when you use a keyless entry...well you see most cars do make that tweet sound...but you should get the speakers in the car checked as well. I would recommend that you do not neglect or delay anything

I have mailed to the southern regional manager of hyundai regarding these issue, cos one is never really sure how and where these delaers make their buck!

Btw talking abt missing items, isnt there any vanity mirror on the sun visors in an i20? mine does not have one and neither does it fold on to the side...any insights??

btw i forgot to mention that the horn in i20 is really ****** up! really sub standard one ...is this standard??

Sub-standard horn? As in not getting any sound from it/not loud enough...? Standard factory fitted horns are not very loud - at least in comparison to what you may hear around you. People fit louder horns to their cars to - irritate, make a statement, blow the daylights out of someone's ears...

Hmm...that's funny actually - a brand new car should not have such things. Don't get me wrong, but did you purchase the car all by yourself or did you take help from someone who is knowledgable? Reading through the posts it appears to me that the dealer has perhaps tried to stick you something that's not up to the mark. Get it examined by someone who knows cars ASAP - they will let you know wha's missing. Also get in touch with Hyundai tops with whatever you thing is amiss.

actually i did, we ( thats me and my office gang) plus my boss ka driver who knows cars! we also had the dealer show us the PDI report as well. We did a 2 hour thing and the dealer also took a signature from us saying that we had checked the car and find no problems with it"!  I am also in touch with the regional manager -south of hyundai who hastened the delivery foir my desired color!
