the dealer also took a signature from us saying that we had checked the car and find no problems with it"!

Quite possible (fishy) - given the background & sequence.

But, as such, normally dealers take our signatures while delivering the car - on papers/documents that also contain a rider that all is checked / in order.

The horn problem is not the first such thing I hear. Even this problem was there in the Ford Escorts when they were first launched. In India we honk as when we like but in european countries its not freuquent. So their horns are not so loud. The car manufacture has to prepare a different kit when he brings the car to India!!

today the dealer guy called and told that there is no glove box lamp in the indian version of i20 and is present only in the UK version. Also there would be no tweeting in the car as all hyundai vehicles coming with factory fitted remote key system does not tweet.

hmmmphh!!

Also I wasn't really impressed with the i20 ka seats....i had been reading on several sites that it has partial leather seats....but i20 does not have it! i gotta buy new leather seats now!

Also does anyone know what is the usual warranty applicable to any hyundai vehicle? i have been given only 2 years warranty! and i gotta pay more to extend it!

dealer guy took the signature cos I had insisted that my guy will check the car independently for 2 hours...! he was miffed and asked me to sign that vehicle is in order!

Extended warranty is not required - have a look at this.

However, if you feel your usage is going to be substantially high & may, therefore benefit you, you may go for it.

Regarding the warning sound for keyless entry, I think it is programmable. As I fitted the same from outside, the catalogue of the security system says that you can change the accompanying sound by programming using the toggle switch provided in dash. In your case, as it is a factory fitted one, I am not sure as separate brochure will not be provided. You can very well verify this matter from another dealer or ASS.

You can live in your car, but you can't drive your house.

Mr.Naidu,

I have been driving Santro for 8yrs and can run another 3yrs without any major repiars.Meanwhile the need for 2nd Car arised. I have started research starting from Swift,Dzire,Linea,Fabia,New City & Xylo. I had booked both Xylo & Linea in that order.

When i have seen I20 on the road, it immediately caught my attention and arranged for a TD. I have booked and taken delivery the very next day(5th March09) from Hyundai Motor Plaza(there is a waiting for 40days in all Dealer/Showrooms)

I have taken the decision in 2hours and got the vehicle in another 2hours(luckly the PDI was done for this particular vehicle. I have taken Cherry Red Magna, since my Santro is Amazon Green.

My driving is mostly ristricted to Delhi-Gurgaon and i do not wanted to shed 1lakh for ABS & A/bags/steering mounted sterios controls/rear wiper etc. At the most i will get the fog lamps fixed from outside for 10K.

I had noticed the horn issue during test drive and got convined that I20 is being produced for Global market and am happy to participating/doing my bit in reducing the Noice pollution.

The Integrated Music system is fantastic. Interiors & inside space makes you feel that you are in a luxury sedan. Boot space is also more than enough.

Let me discover more to enable me to share more.

15. boot looks ok, and has a lamp too

16. the seat folding system is a hogwash since after folding u dont get a flat surface to keep ur luggage but a step formation where it folds so it is not flat as advertised, making it unusable for v large travel bags unless u want to leave it hanging in a cantilever action

17. The alloy wheels feels v basic 5 spoke wheels ....i dont understand why one will not get an option to choose the one with more spokes which looks better

18. ONly two years warranty. Would have been better with a 3 year warranty

19. coat hook is a hogwash, there is a small plastic hook on the rear passenger hand rest position and not like a real coat hook that the skoda gives

20. The folding key system is cool. but no tweeting sound and same for backing up...no sound at all

21. the sleeky design has apparenyly killed rear passenger space sideways
