broadly 3 areas

1. performance : things like pick-up .. near petrol feel of the car .. minimum breakdowns translating into less trouble, less maintenance expences

2. safety : obviously the biggest grey area .. here credibility and trust built up over years plays a major role, hence the difficulties faced by new entrants in finding acceptance with the consumers

3. life of the kit : including the frequency with which repairs/replacements are required

What you say is basically 1. quality 2. reliability.

Where do Indians go wrong with reliability? -  What parts by indian kits fail? What mechanism?

What about quality - what contributes to the quality/petrol feel? is it misfirimg while in LPG/CNG? why do Italians score high on this? Any contributing factors?

This is the usual drilling down a quality guy would do - most don't know anything about subject matter, but just help developers by acting as agony aunts.
