Ok... so Vista and Getz are the only two options left for me (in 4.0 lacs range).

One more thing, could you plz give me an idea how often I need to take my car to the service station for maintenance purpose? Actually I need to know a comparison between these two based on the maintenance factors [I'm not sure whether the data is available for Vista as it's a fresh model]. I'm planning to keep the car for atleast 4 years from now.

Also what would be the re-sale values for these two models [Vista Saffire vs. Getz GLE 1.1] after using for 4 years (with 7200 KMs travelled per year)?

I know that Hyundai cars have better re-sale values compared to Tatas. Also I've heard that Hyundai is offering a 5 years extended warranty on Getz Prime too (?).

Hi Ayan, Given your estimated annual run of 7200 kms, I think you need to take your car once in a year for routine maintenance.(except for initial mandatory free services @1000kms/1 month, 5000 kms/6 months, etc). I think every year you need to change oil, oil filter, air filter, etc. I don't know about the cost of these changes, but I was told it will be around Rs. 2000/- per year. As my car is only 3 months old, no expenses so far on service. btw, Tata is offering 4 years extended warranty @ Rs. 4200/- (I have already opted for this because my yearly run will be around 20,000 kms and i intend to keep the car for minimum 4 years)

Vista will be cheaper on maintenance cost & will fetch better resale value (Getz resale value has always been quite low).

@Ayan, I just checked with my friend who owns Getz Petrol (not Prime) since last 4 years. He is having AMC with Hyundai delaer and annual AMC charge is Rs. 5650/- for the last year. This year he is expecting some increase. Under AMC they provide service at every 3000 kms or 3 months whichever is earlier. This will give you an approximate idea on annual maintenance charges on Getz.

Thank you Mr. Venugopalan for sharing this useful information!

Hey, can someone plz confirm what is the exact mileage for Getz Prime 1.1 GLE (petrol)? Somewhere I found 11kms/ltr in city and 15.8kms/ltr on highways and somewhere else it's 9kms/ltr in city and 14kms/ltr on highways - which one is correct?

The difference in mileage(9 versus 11) is insignificant to warrant consideration and the same and if not more variation would occur with different driving styles.

For the 1.1 expect around the 10kmpl mark in the city with 100% AC.

50K is nothing.  No problem if you continue with the car (very good condition).

However, if you sell it, upgrade to better/bigger car (no fun in buying the same all over again).

@Ayan, I was at Tata dealer today. On enquiry, they told me annual regular maintenance charge will be around Rs. 2700/- and max Rs. 3000/- for Vista Safire. But they do not have any AMC arrangements.
