i10 or Getz Prime or Santro Xing - which one is the best pick - plz help!

I am planning to buy a new car and I have short listed the following 4 cars:

I'm a 6' tall man and don't drive at all, so prefer to sit on the rear seat. I've a small family of 3 members. My daily (Mon to Fri) travelling around would be 20 - 25 Kms ( 40% within city - 60 % on highways) and long-drives at weekend (once in 2-3 months).

My requirements are:

4. Moderate Looks/ Interiors (CD player with quality speakers is a must  : don't know whether they can be installed later??)

All your car except Getz are A segment car. A segment cars are suited for smaller persons and self driven cars. Getz is a B segment which has more space at back and is overall bigger. So your ideal choice would be Getz or Indica Vista. Now I am also looking for the answer. Swift is best B car only for sefdriven as it has rear space like a A. Getz and Vista both are priced between 4 to 4.5 lakh. So a hard choice.

Vista Safire Aura is the best option considering your height and your requirements. It is very comfortable and has very good leg space. It is truly a Value for Moner Car. It has good interior and comes with decent Music Player. As you said that you are not performance freak, Vista Safire perfectly fits the bill. There are 3 variants, you can test drive one & choose according to your budget. I get mileage of around 12 kmpl in city with a/c on & 5 adults in my Vista Sfire.

I would re-work the shortlist to i10 Magna 1.2 & Vista Saffire. Both are good cars which satifies points 1-4. Magna 1.2 would give better performance and FE. Vista would have better space/comfort. Do take the TD of both cars with family.

i10 1.1 vs 1.2 - The kappa engine is better and more fuel efficient. So I would suggest you to take that. Extra performance without FE loss. Who wouldn't want that. At time when you have mood you can scortch the highway also.

i10 kappa is the best car of the lot and the best selling one.

Music system - Get it done as after-market. It would cost lesser and sound better.

Since you prefer sitting in the rear seat - the odds are in favour of vista.

Would second Ami on the choice of i10 over the Vista.

Would like to differ on the FE though-most magazine tests have revealed better FE for the 1.1 over the 1.2 Kappa engine(though not a big gap-but still a gap!)

i10 kappa magna would be the obvious choice!!!

I dont understand the logic behind suggesting A segment car (any brand or quality may be) to a 6 feet tall man who will sit at rear. Please explain.

I would second subir as he is a 6 feeter and from his mentioned choice I think he's obviously in favor of hyundai. Good going man. Getz prime would be my suggestion. But if Getz is in option why not Accent GLE? offers good space, boot and most ideal for a long drives.

@Subir: I am not well versed with segment codes. The cars suggested ie i10 & Vista have good rear seats. Vista in fact has it better than other sedans.

Accent and Getz are good but it wont satisfy points 2&3.

Disclaimer: I am also 6'', have sat in Vista and was bowled over by the space it offers.

Ami - hope I dont annoy you all the time. but my opinion about the suggestion is if someone provides the option, like in this case he's clear to but on amongst those 5 option, we/I should suggest from those option and not some other vehicle. which I also land up doing all the time. Also, here vista and Accent was not in the list, still we have confused him adding these options in his bucket.

Personally while buying my car, I was clear and when I posted my opinion open for the suggestion, there were 10 cars which people suggested. Still I zerowed down on getz.

So my friend - with your option best space - Getz and best car - i10 Magna. Depends what your priority is.
