I bought a Hyundai - i10 (SportZ) model on 16th January ’09. I noticed one strange behavior when I used power window button. When I press rear power window buttons at that time I can clearly sense that engine gets some load and firing of engine goes change. It has same feeling like when you switch one the AC and feel the difference of car behavior.

I asked to my dealer ( DownTown - Anand – Gujarat) about the same and he also didn’t know about this. After I noticed him, we checked other i10 cars in showroom and found the same problem like my i10 has. So I think, it would be better to report on forum. Could you please suggest me what to do on this.

Does anyone notice this?

Well, I didn't experience so during my drives / test-drive.

I think it should not be so (any car).  Power Windows work on battery/alternator.  In case of use of AC, it affects the engine performance/power because the AC Compression is connected to engine/crank shaft.

Anyway, hope others post their experience/observation - especially the owners.

Never felt the same-may be an issue related to certain batches of cars(the wiring loom might be the culprit here).

Or the fault may be to do something with the battery/alternator (entire batch of cars).

Hi All,

Just yesterday i visited my dealer showroom and checked my car by workshop manager.

He tested with some electronics scanner and found that there is no any load on engine but when you pressing the two button of power windows simultaneously, two 12V motor will rotate and that is creating some vibration in to the car...he agreed that it hasn't to happen but i will check once company's engineer will come to check your car....

So at this moment still my issue is open but will posted you guys on this..

I am surprised that why no one noticed that!!!!i checked 4 i10 and all are behaving like i mentioned...

Regards,

Tejas
