@Krishna. No the RTO won't pass this design.

Though its a very aerodynamic designa s I mentioned earlier.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

Feroz, Rachit,

I re-read the section 52 carefully... it says you cannot modify it such that the specifications in the registration are altered..

Registration only contains cubic capacity, fuel type and unladen weight. All three can be maintained when the modification I am eyeing is needed to be applied - the pointy boat tail. Am I still at risk?

Separately how do I go about getting an RTO 'blessing' for this mod? I am too nervous to   even approach RTO on this topic, because it would be like walking into Lion's den - reasonable chance of being torn up and eaten...

It would be best to preempt the possible denial by appraoching the chief RTO with a sketch/plan on the mod and to take him/her into confidence. Atleast a definite idea about the feasibility of the modification would be known.

I do not think they will entertain such applications. As I specified earlier, eventhough law says "as per specifications in RC" final word is ARAI specifications.

Even then it is not a bad idea to approach higher authorities for convincing them. One handicapped person in my neighbouring town had such a success. He altered his Zen for fitting accelerator that can be controlled with hands. And he got RTO approval after he approached the Transport Commissioner and it was news here. But this was 5 years back, and I heard that he installed the same thing to many other needy people.

before going to the RTO office you must go to the manufacturer office of your state and get an NOC for your plan then modification must be done according to the plan passed then you can go to RTO in your case you started of derect applying your modification it is to difficult to get an NOC from RTO . Nice work done by the way
