Your monthly running merits a petrol car.

Have a look at this

IMHO brand bew Alto LXI will be the best car which suits your usage pattern and budget. Lxi comes with A/C, PowerSteering and best in class mileage.Dont go for  the used indicav2 turbo (June 2007 model) runned about 50000 km.

I suppose OTR for ALto LXi will be around 3 Lacs @ Dhanbad.

Tata Indica V2 Xeta 1.2 GLS may be your option. But if you don't require AC then Hyundai Santro Xing NonAC should be your option.

Try for an old Santro.

Tata Indica is powerful,spacious,comfortable....but are not that much responsive and a bit hassle to drive.Santro is better option if you are more concerned for drive satisfaction.

If you have a small family, rule out Xeta (5-seater in real sense) - it's not as trouble-free car as others.

In my opinion, AC & Power Steering (PS) are comfort features - more like necessities these days.

I would suggest, buy a new small car - can consider Alto LXi (AC & PS, both). It will suit your budget more or less - it's the most popular & highest selling small family car.

If space/comfort of Alto doesn't suit you, consider Spark 1.0 (with AC / no PS).

Hi Nawnit,

Go for a used santro or a non Ac new one as suggested by Tushar. It is an amazing car. I have been driving one for past year and a half .Maintainace is extremely low and it gives me a mileage of arnd 14 in chandigarh with AC. Also it offers gr8 height so incase you are tall it is extremely to get in and out of the car.

All the best.... Smile

Hi,

Try to buy a new one for peaceful 4 years ahead. Your budget is not bad and if you can stretch a bit buy a Spark PS or Zen Estilo (base is available @ 2.66 ex-showroom). Day before yesterday I was there in GM showroom for booking a Spark LT and just because my friend was interested in LT or Muzic, I forgot to ask the price of Spark PS. But LT is available @3.59 lacs with all the discounts so I think PS is available around 3. There is tax difference in states so checkout your dealer.

If GM dealership is not available in Dhanbad, dont buy Spark, consider Estilo or Santro but stretch your budget a bit as A.C. is MUST for you because you are from Dhanbad and its just not possible to drive car without a.c. in Dhanbad. I have visited twice... too hot in summers.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

@ navnit,

u have 3 choices. alto, spark & santro. all will come in ur budget & are good cars. if u have to stretch a bit for a better model than plz do but buy a car which has power steering & A/C for atleast, it is a necessary these days.

checkout all 3 cars, test drive them & see which one feels comfortable to u.

@ navnit, try to eliminate the cars which does'nt have P/S & A/C

Since its going to be self driven dont compromise on power steering.

A/C  is must for you if we consider climatic conditions @ your location.
