How about FORD IKON new diesel version

Any one know about FORD IKON new diesel version. One of my friend is looking for that car to purcahse. Pls advice on this.

ford ikon is having the same engine as of the ford fiesta diesel, so be assured that u ll get a great milleage but somehow when i saw the interiors of the car, they looked quite downmarket and was very much disappointed. so tell him to see the car and take the decision as the choice of the interiors and exteriors depends on person to person

car has recently put a road test in the road test section on ford ikon diesel...i would say the car is powerful and efficient but only let down is interiors and cost of maintenance

The car is VFM owing to packaging. Power not quite good. FE is impressive and so is the price.

the new ikon diesel is a good car with a tries & tested diesel engine which has the best mileage figures. the car is strong & solid & rides well. interiors are the same age old that were present in the past ikons but are still acceptable if the buyer likes & has no problems with it than. else the car is very much fine & comes at a very competitive price tag.

tell ur friend to go ahead with the ikon.

In fact it has affected the market of Fiesta (itself) - same (almost) performance, handling/braking, mileage etc. - all at a substantially lower price.  Interiors/exteriors, however, cannot be compared (with Fiesta).

All in all, a VFM (value for money) car.

The ford ikon diesel is the most Value for Money Sedan in the 5.5 to 6.5 Lakh Rupee range. It has a lot going for it in terms of cost, looks, power and fuel economy. Engie is good (same as Fiesta) and handling is superb. Fun to Drive. Maintenance is same as other cars in this segment.  If you want more refined car with better interiors and safety features you should be prepared to pay more and go in for fiesta or linea (8 to 8.5 Lakhs).   Ask your friend to go ahead and buy the Ikon diesel (as I did).

I am considering buying a 5.5 - 6.5 range casr in the diesel segment and was going through this thread. I am very confused b/w New Ikon and Loagn...

Logan has better space/comfort & suspensions but Ikon Dura Torq is a better car - engine/performance is that of Fiesta & so is the handling/braking (almost).

Test-drive both the cars with family (space requirement).
