Mr. Singh, You do test drive the 2007 CR-V and you will realize that this car is no match to classy Accord V6, even they are not comparable as far as engine is considered. What Accord V6 has under the hood is simple amazing thing. I am surprised that Toyota people behaved this way, its not the Toyota way at all. Either they don't even have one Camry for test-drive or they are too busy in selling Innova/Corolla. Former is more likely, very few buy Camry due to the price its being offered.

In that case Toyota should stop selling the Camry in India, rather than getting a Bad Name ;)

The new Accord will be a face-lifted version of current Accord. Engine will be 20-30bhp more powerful, interiors/exterior will be improved and a few new goodies might be added. The new Accord definitely be better than the current one but it would be little costlier (1-2.5 lakh). Moreover you will lose the 1.5 lakh discount hence a total loss of 2-3.5 lakh. If you are ready to spend this much for those small touch-ups, you can wait, I would have gone for the current Accord though.

Banwari, Forgot to mention this, the Accord v6, which is being offered by Delhi Dealers at Rs. 1.6 lacs Discount, are cars which were manufactured in December, 2005, but are Brand New ... Do you think there is some catch ?? Also, if you OK it, I will Book the Car, but take the Delivery in the 1st week of January, since I am out of Country, starting 22nd December. Also, this way, one will have a car registered in 2007. Right ??

You are buying 2005 car today??? No man, don't do this, the discount will go in resell only!

I am bigger than anything that can happen to me. All these things, sorrow, misfortune, and suffering, are outside my door. I am in the house and I have the key.

Yes, Mr. Singh, Deepak is quite right, don't go for this car. Its not a minor thing, its a major one. Doesn't matter when you are registering your car, in India car's resale is decided primarily on manufacturing-year basis. In this case your new Accord will be 1 year old already hence a loss of 1-1.5lakh instantly. Registering this car in 2007 won't help at all, its 2005 car and its the ultimate fact! Why don't you ask your dealer for discount on 2006 Accord V6? I think it should be pretty healthy too.

According to this Article http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=109710, the Camry is far superior to the Accord. But the point is Toyota has not launched the Camry v6 in India. I did not buy the Accord, which was available on a Discount. The new Honda Accord is due to be launched, any day. I am really confused, as to what to buy ??

Mr. Singh,

No doubt, Camry is superior to Honda Accord, not in technology but also in luxury. But since you are looking for a power-house, good luxury at good price, Accord V6 is the best bet. 4-cylinder Camry launched in India is no match to Honda Accord V6 as far as engine performance is considered. The price difference is too huge to justify extra luxury.

And yes, 2007 Accord has been launched in India with minor touch-ups. No changes are made in engine, its kept intact. Prices are a bit higher (30,000-50,000 rupees). BMW 3-Series too is available for test-drive now.

The older accord has as good a drive and interior experience as any other compareable car in this class. I havent driven the 3 Liter V6, but the 2.4Liter iVTEC was enough to make me fall in love with this car. The only downside is a slightly harder suspension as this is geared for high speed driving.

With the current discounts you could get two for the price of a Beamer.
