... hope you have further queries on that Wink

Any other differences you would like to point-out between the two cars under reference ?

Can't think of any. If you ask something maybe I can guide you if I know anything about it.

Post edited to remove quote of the immediately preceding post-kindly note that this has been highlighted at various occasions in different threads-MODS

A Formula 1 car uses carbon disc brakes. These brakes work well above 300deg C. Below this temperature the brakes don't function well. Thats why a Formula 1 driver does a warm up lap before he starts to race.

Here are a few pictures of a Formula 1 car's disc brakes. The small holes are meant for cooling.

The warmup lap is also(more so) done to get heat into the tyres-which is even more crucial than the brakes.

Yes surely it is. But the topic was on brakes. Wink

Pankaj I disagree with whats written on wikipedia (especially the Formula 1 tyres and for braking also to a certain extent). Now F1 cars use slicks which is mentioned only in the last line. And about braking, it says Montreal (Canada)'s track needs a braking of 5.5g which isn't true. The actual statement should be

A modern F1 car can achieve 5.5g under braking whereas even a high-performance road car will probably not reach 1g.

There is no mention of intermediate and wet tyres as well.

Turbochargers were used in F1 cars from 1977 till 1988. Initiall FIa had plans to get back Turbochargers into F1 for the 2012 season with bio-diesel.

Again, as comes to Turbochargers (One of my favorite topics) and Formula 1 I have written on it as well. check it here.
