A Bugatti Veyron when compared with a F1 is much faster... But it delivers the 1001 Ps power at 6000 RPM. Where as the engine of a F1 which runs upto 18000 Rpm cannot attain the Veyron's speed... Kindly explain this guys....

Veyron has a 8L 16 cylinder engine with 4 turbo chargers.

Formula 1 cars have  2.4-2.8 L engines with 10 and now 8 cylinder formats and there is no turbo chargers hence the need for higher RPM to extract almost equal power.

The veyron is faster also because of one more reason-4 wheel drive.

Do note that the Veyron is faster but the F1 cars are quicker.

..."Do note that the Veyron is faster but the F1 cars are quicker."

faster => greater top speed

quicker => greater acceleration or pick-up

In essence F1 will go from 0-60 in less time as compared to Veyron, but its top speed is less than that of the Veyron.

Right?

Thats right Rohit.

The F1 cars will be quicker around a track also because of the vastly superior braking.

So quicker(F1) because of greater acceleration and better brakes.

A Formula 1 car has a 2.4l V8 engine (18,000 rpm) which produces approximately 740hp and with the KERS coming into picture, an F1 car can produce more 80 summing it up to 820hp. The Bugatti Veyron has a 8.0l W16 engine which produces a power of 1001 horses with 4 turbochargers. An F1 car weighs around 600kgs with the driver and fuel, at the same time a Veyron weighs about 1,900kgs.

A Formula 1 car can have greater top speed than a Bugaati Veyron specially the 3.0l V10 used till 2005. But Formula1 is all about tricky driving rather than straight line driving, hence the car has a lot more downforce as compared to the Veyon. And none of the Formula 1 tracks have a very long straight where a car could touch the speed of 380-390 km/h. The maximum Formula 1 car's track speed is 335-340km/h.

A Formula 1 car is way quicker than a Veyron on turns. Veyron just have greater top speed. On turns its no where near  a Formula 1 car. The best example I can give is that of the track in Monte Carlo in Monaco. Its a track with no long straight and lots of turns. its a high downforce track. The maximum speed that a Formula 1 car can achieve as around 290 km/h (in the tunnel).Whereas in Monza, Italy wich is a high speed track, the car has greater uplift as compared to that in Monaco, and the top speed achieved by any car in Monza is about 330-335 km/h (at the last long parabolic turn).

If you have any doubts about Downforce and Uplift and other aerodynamic stuff. You can refer to my article here.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

Oh yes, I understand.  I didn't really mean to compare it.  As such, this forum too is very good - speaking in general.  All the best.
