Forget the important thing. You will get more boot space!

I love my car. But I won't say it is the best in its class.

Thanks Shaheen.

But what about turning and parking issues in choc-a-bloc metropolitan traffic of Delhi?

These things are actually holding me back - besides the apprehensions of buying an used car.

Yeah, parking issues are there indeed. Although Calicut is not as choc-a-bloc as Delhi, i usually don't find parking place where can I park a small car and not a sedan; may be 1 in 100.

Buying a used car will save real money especially in case of Fiat, bcoz Fiat's brand is just budding up. And if you are not taking loan.

Disclaimer: Personally I like sedan!

I love my car. But I won't say it is the best in its class.

@Raj.Tri

1.Analyse your daily driving conditions. If you use the car for daily commuting through heavy traffic and/or you have to hunt for a parking space daily tehn sedan can be a pain.

2.If you are looking for a second car for a weekend getaway trips or you travel through medium to light traffic then the Linea IS the choice.you cant go wrong with Linea.

3.If this is your first purchase and the first condition is true ,then better take the Punto.

These are my opinion.see if it helps ur decision.but all in all I would say you cant go wrong with a FIAT.Although the narrow minded mentality of the Indian car buying public may still be afraid to buy a FIAT,from my experience "ONCE A FIAT,ALWAYS A FIAT" Laughing .even then go through all the information you can find about both cars and then also do atleast two TD's before you reach a conclusion.

all the best Cool

I totally agree with what ever Rajnish Sharma has said,it is a mature post and well thought out

Yes,every buyer has his own buying criteria, mine is build, ride and handling in that order

Yes,buyers of FIAT cars become emotionally attached to their cars and will not think about selling it,100% correct

Yes,after 5 years of ownership the gap in the resale value would narrow down, even if it doesn't happen,I would have recovered that money anyway while filling the tank all these years and courtesy 15 kms service interval

Yes,with the advent of LINEA certainly the sales on City has come down.Pre Linea, earlier generation NHC was doing 5000 units every month. Now anhc is struggling to get past 3,500 units, where has the 1500 additional customers gone??,to Linea of course.

There is no perfect car in the automobile world, with the limitations FIAT have, they have certainly given the best they could, the LINEA

Honda's paddle shift simply rocks!!!

Agreed. I'm a big fan of it as well(see my handle) Tongue out

Both Linea and ANHC are targeted at different customers. Linea is for comfort, elegant looks and a pleasurable drive, cruising around and high quality ride at speed in excess of 150kmph. ANHC is for comfort, sporty looks and enthusiast driving.

Linea has more features/gadgets while City has better A.S.S. and more peace of mind.

One of my friend owns a dec 2009 Honda City SMT. He's always ready to discuss and show it's various features very enthusiastically whenever I sit inside his car but last week we went to check out Punto and Linea.

After 10mins of demonstration of the features by the sales executive, he said, "I didn't know these FIAT cars have features like these.  Most of these features are what I read in Audi's brochure" He was talking of the Blue&Me(Audi's bluetooth has similar features), speed sensitive volume control, voice commands, on board car diagnostics features and many more. His dream car is an Audi A4 and he said that Linea can give the "similar feeling" of Audi in terms of gadgetry in an affordable trim. Tongue out

City is not techie as Linea. I do agree with you. But I wanted the brand equity, peace of ming, better ASS, resale value and the exotic look, which made me go for the City. Regarding 'blue and me' in CNBC's overdrive I heard that the voice recognition is not as sensitive; so its not of much use. Is it true?

Shaheen & all , rightly said, the first feature that excites a curious customer in FL is BLUE and ME only.

Before buying the car, i saw the news item which talked about voice recognition suited to European accent of english and not the way we Indian speak. During first TD itself, I loaded my mobile on to that demo car and tried calling up people thru steering control. It look so simple as ever and I was oversold on this feature. Now with a Navigator installed on my Linea Emotion and with the calls that keep coming in alongwith the facility to listen to SMS is quite a luxury. I was driving for an important meeting from one plant to another , while on mid way, I heard a message that the meeting has been cancelled. I U turned at next intersection and reached while all other participants reached the venue since they didnot have blue and me and couldn't afford to listen to the SMS. The value of each feature is tremendous in FL provided we know how to juice it out.

Blue and ME along with MY CAR is a huge value to the customer. By the way we need to maintaina good Repo with our FIAT/TATA dealers which I did right from start, I never faced any issue with my ASS. They pick my car ,do the job and drop it back well in time. The work is neat, I feel now their people have learnt about Linea service. It takes time for each car. Sorry for going out of Topic , my Boss who owns a Toyota Altis says that he is waiting for last 20 days for just a Wiper which is not available at his dealership at Delhi.

By the way, Just keep watching the cost of ANHC Spare part, I had collected data in the beginning which said that the cost of top 30 parts of both ANHC and FL had a cost difference of Rs 74 Thousand with ANHC costlier. ASS has to be good and cost effective too. Just check if a bumper get hit and one needs to repair it how much it costs in both cars. The proud owners of both ANHC and FL never realise this since they dont compare the money outflow from their profits.

So Hang on Guys , though I own a FL Petrol , but I am sure people with FL Diesel and driving it more would be laughing all their way to their bank.

Have a Nice Day

Bye

Rajnish Sharma
