hi Gaurav

i wud just like to share a piece of info with u. might help with ur decision making.

I owned old Honda City GXi. Though the car was a pleasure to drive but it wasnt that safe.I can say that after the current events. 2 months back i was going from delhi to agra on the highway near mathura sudddenly a troller came from nowhere. i was at speeds of around 80-90 i tried applying brakes but i dont know what happened the brakes failed or what my car rammed into the troller and whole front portion got tored just like a piece of paper. Thankfully with god's grace there was no injuries. I wud like to bring it in ur notice that i had apllied break well withing 500mtrs(this fact was even verified by the insurance surveyer from his 5 yrs of exp in this field) from the troller but i guess they failed somehow. Neways the damage to the car was beyond repairs. so i purchased a New Linea keeping in mind the safety point. The Linea is 120kgs more heavier than city that means more steel and solid material.

Honda city is 55% made of plastic materials this fact became know to me when i was to get the insurance amount that most of the parts in the car were not of steel so only 50% refunds from those parts.

from my exp if u want a car from safety point of view then dont go for Honda. Its lightwighted so gives more performance but very less safety.

Regards

Vinayak

My personal experience, Ford cars are much better than others as far as safety is concern (Without additional safety features). Build quality is very good.... Solid Cars.

Couple of days back I visited Tata/Fiat dealership to have a look at Punto. There few guys were checking Punto & Vista. One of them asked lets see Jazz too its a bit costly but a class car, his fellow(I think he was his boss) told him Honda is very weak, Car bilkul solid nahi hai accidental case may mera personal experience hai.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

Dear Neha, I had written a long message after reading your horrifying experience but it appears that it didn't post correctly.

I am writing few things again:

1] Its really a bad experience

2] Appears Fiat is confused and is on the sama path again

3] The dealer needs to be taken to task

4] You need to claim some damage claim from the dealer / Fiat

5] Kindly inform the name and address of the dealer so that all readers are cautious and do not approach the sick dealer

6] Dealer mechanic training appears to be a big issue, which it appears needs to be resolved quickly, else FIAT is in trouble again

7] After such a horrifying experience, don't even think about Punto. By the way, Ritz and Jazz are also equally bad.

8] You may go for safer bets like Maruti Swift, Someone was suggesting Ford products , I think you could try them too.

I say all this with quite clarity. I suggest that though you deserved a better treatment from the dealer, such guys could be sacked if you rise up and complain the matter to FIAT or even consumer forum.

These are just my views and I don't intend to annoy anyone. I just want to speak up in ur interests. Thats all.

Take care,

Rajnish Sharma

Dear Arunima,

I didn't have mud flap on my FL Emotion pack ever since i bought it. It was just on first service that I got them, they have put them neatly. I don't think that hole were done later. But the way you are telling, it might be possible

Secondly, I agree with you, in our country the customer has to be extra cautious here with respect to service. After all there is no free lunch here.

Thanks & Regards

hey had a query - the dealer mentioned that the linea does not have any way to have mud flaps and we would need to make holes in the bod of the car to install mudflaps..is that true? how does it work with other cars?

Rajnish .. well put up & written...

I had mentioned in some other thread.. that there aer good & basd incident with all the car makers in their product & services.

Neha..please answer the following for more light..

1. Which dealer/service station you are talking about.

2. Did you ever write to Fiat Helpline about your issue or take this thing to the higher authorities...as I certainly feel tht this was an issue to get to the notice of higher authorities.

3. Also would like to know wasn't there another option available to you for service with your first expereince......

DO throw some light on the above for others to understand this better....

on the other side there are also many happy Linea owners in this forum ....in simmiler ratio to the other new launched cars.....

People also have problems with ANHC...SX4..etc etc...

Really sorry for what you have faced with your service station....

I want to purchase the car through CSD as I m entitled for that, and I want to take car through plant billing, can some one suggest how to do it. I am ready to wait for th plant billing delivery for 1-2 months.

I would be taking car in north, so any suggestion for the dealer with discounts on insurance premium/ other incentives

Thanks n Bye

hi Lalit,

You need a petrol car. The price  difference between petrol and diesel variants is 1lac(aproxx)in your version.(emotin pack). At Your run (just 600kmpm)you'll just save 1000 rs per month on diesel over petrol .To get back the initial cost back (1lac) you'll take 8 years(aproxx).so diesel not adviseable in your case.

NO idea about plant billing.May be other members can advise you.
