@Vinayak

I too own a petrol fiat linea in delhi, the average consumption displayed is 7.7 and if the avg. is measured with the traditional method (tankfull to tankfull) it gives 12.

I went for the first servicing of the car this week itself and explained this issue to service ppl, they replied it might be a problem with the display meter, as the engine setting was perfect . They checked the engine with an equipment termed as examiner, this was nothing but a laptop wired to my car's engine which checked for rpm setting.

This whole process was done in my presence. I think this is the same problem which you are facing.

Moderaters any comments..

Mileage displayed are not very reliable (any car).  Tank-full to tank-full method is best/acurate.

Hi, have been in a dillemma on what to buy, went to the showroom here in Blore and it was packed to the hilt...guess punto is pulling lot of eyeballs and it is seems to be a nice car. Wanted to TD the linea petrol and havent had success. But , as far as looks and presence goes , Linea would win hands down. Have to make a decision and thanks to this thread am getting lot of view points .

I caculate the mileage by tankful to tankful method only...but when compared to the MID displayed mileage, the difference is only of +/- 0.2 kmpl.

Hello All,

This is really good thread helping me understand but I see too much of subjective comments all tilting towards Linea but if I look at the hard data and other discussions and reviews Linea this is how it looks...

ANHC(New Honda City) - 1.5L engine, 118BHP

Linea  - 1.4L engine, 88BHP

Linea does not seem to have one of the weakest engine. Just 88BHP is one of the lowest in this mid-size car segment. Is this really true? Is Fiat planning to launch new Linea with better engine.

There is a possibilty that I would like to say. FE are expressed in two ways. Kilometers per litre / Litres for 100 Kms. So if we take the FE of 7.7 in the latter unit then it translates to 12.98. This figure is close to your manually calculated figure.

If I am not wrong there was a discussion on the same. Have a look here.

EDIT: Sorry for replying to an old thread. Just noticed it now.
