I got my Hyundai Verna CRDI about a month back. Right from the first week, I felt that there was something unusual in the dashboard  - the speedometers and odometers are all fine, but the central part where the music system is fitted looks turned towards the drivers side - and beleive me it is very obvious.

I the checked up with the dealer (Trident Hyundai at Bangalore) and he said it is by design !! This he says is "ergonomic design" - done intentionally by Hyundai to facilitate the driver to have a better visibility of the music panel.

I found it quite odd and unconvincing.  I have been driving a Santro for 5 years now and this does not seem to be a problem.  He says it comes with all models fo Verna and is worse in the new i10 Kappa.

Any feedback/inputs on this would help as I am forced to concentrate on this every time I get into the car!!

-i did not notice the center console to be that much 'driver focused' the last time i was in the Verna-but for sure its a design feature and not a 'design flaw;.

-this is undertaken by most car manufacturers and puts the controls in a more easier ergonomic way-so there is nothing to worry.

If the car is designed that way, it is designed ergonomoically to make things easily accessible for the driver.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!
