Hi,

I have been driving a delhi car in pune from quite some time and am planning to stay in Pune for around 5-6years. Could anyone please tel me if there are any special documents/clearance required from delhi / Pune RTO for driving my car in Pune. If yes, then can you let me know the procedure as well for the same.

If u plan to stay there from 3 months to 12 months,u are req to pay Road Tax.U can claim the raod tax paid earlier on pro rata basis. This is done by Agents Smile

If u plan to stay beyond iyr(as u r) u will hv to get the car registered at Pune.

So u hv to get a NOC from Delhi RTO in favour of Pune.

But the dilemna is if u plan to bring the car from Pune to Delhi after 5-6 yr,it wnt be registered.

Pankaj can clear u mre on this.

Life-time tax paid at Delhi will be refunded (pro-rata basis) only if Life-time tax is paid at Pune (not in case of payment of 1-year tax).

For bringing the car back to Delhi after 5-6 years, you need to get it re-registered & pay taxes at Delhi based on Pune NOC.

If there is a requirement that a person has to live for 2 years in Delhi and then 2 years in PUne and so on . his life will spend in getting the vehicle registered and deregistered .

is there any way out for this ?

If you spend a lifetime in registering and deregistering the car with the RTOs, then you will have to spend 3 times your lifetime in shifting furniture, getting change of address notified with banks, credit cards companies, insurance companies, stock brokers, demat accounts, etc.

And then telling everyone that your phone numbers, email ids, etc. have all changed.

Just like you have to do all the above, the car re-registration also has to be done.
