slightly less milage due to the Kerb wieght of the Vista! whereas the Quadrajet gives slightly better milage when compared to TDI Vista

Have a look at this comparison-the quadrajet's kerb weight of the vista quadrajet is more than the vista TDI-so even if the mileage is less it cannot be because of the weight aspect.

actually i dint mean that , what i meant to say was the TURBO INDICA was giving better milage but dont expect the Same milage with the VISTA TDI!! since Vistas wieght is a bit more than the INDICA!

Update: Havent yet booked the car, but I have applied for a loan approval by HDFC/TATA, which gives me a better deal (lower ROI), I will take it and go ahead.

Meanwhile, I was stumped when someone asked me "whats new" in Vista TDi then indica.

I could think up of 3-4 points and that too am not sure of :p

1. Maybe a better engine - TDi?

2. better interiors

3. more spacious

4. headlights and tail lights have changed

what else has changed?

I know it sounds stupic even as I type it. but can someone please add to this list.

Regards

Mateen

Not at all.............When you are comparing close these points are handy.

My additions:

newer car

A lil refinement can be expected. (my stupid logic Wink)

We have a fellow soul who has taken the car under consideration. Hope he will give his views here.

well what I think has changed in VISTA is non-existing taxi tag..and also fiat engine which is proven and tested with swif too and also will be powering new indigo..

if u r planning to go with vista then only think of 1.3 QDJ variant and nothing else otherwise A-Star is even not a bad option if space requirement is not too much for u..I test drove A-Star and believe me I liked it far better than i10 for stability and driving comfort...and offcourse VFM.

the only reason I am opting for Vista TDi is for the space and the diesel engine which I would get. I understand that Quadrajet engine would be better but than having gone through various posts here and other sites, I dont see any one complaining about the "life" of the engine. So I hope the TDi would serve just well. So what "I think" I would be getting is a diesel engine and a spacious car.

however, when I compare the "new" indica vista with indica V2, i really dont see "why" am i paying more for the vista edition

Which version of indica did you compare with?

There is a price difference with normal indica which is justtified by a better car, better interiors and power.

I dont see much difference with turbo version.

Note: This is a general comparison and not version to version.

There's a difference in Indica V2 (non-turbo) & Indica V2 Turbo - vast difference in perfornance.

Indica V2 Turbo & Vista TDi have same engine/performance but Vista TDi has new/better interiors/exteriors & features - and a little more space/comfort & negligibly more power/torque.  Basically, Vista TDi is the new name of Indica V2 Turbo.

Vista Quadrajet has different engine (Fiat) - better performance & higher power/torque.  All Vista models have same space/comfort.

Have a look at this comparison (above models) - go through the Specifications, Features & All Features.

Just one more query: if the vista has the same engine as V2 turbo - then why is it been said that indica vista is not a "new" indica with some refinements but a completely different new car?

Thank you guys for your time, I think i am still trying to convince myself that I should go for indica.

I think that goes to the dimension difference.

When Indigo was stretched it was called Indigo XL.

When it was shrinked it was called Indigo CS.

In case of vista it is 'Indica Vista' and not Vista alone.

Personal View: For me Vista is a new car although it is close to Indica.

Reasons - Look, feel, size, space, comfort etc etc.
