hey...

my mom goes to school for work. So she planned to buy a big car/ SUV so tht she and other students from her school coud pool (sharing expenses amongst every1) into the vehicle and commute together. So it wud run on as a school cab by a driver for her in the mornin n in the evenin will be left for our personal use....

So m confused what kind of registration shud i go for, being an 8 seater vehicle(TATA SUMO GRANDE), it by default comes under Semi-Commercial(White number plate) kind, but shud i remain with tht or go for a complete commercial registration( Yellow taxi number plate) ...Now the problem is tht the commercial version wud cost us more in the beginning(in terms of vehicle registration, insurance, excise duty etc), while runnin on road(in terms of tolls, MCD tax, Border Tax, annual fitness checks etc..), and rises our interest rate from 12%(non-commercial) to 16%(commercial)... makin it a very expensive choice...

We want a car that can fullfill my mom's purpose as well as is good to take on long drives n as a personal car.... and does not give trouble later by means of traffic police officers or cuz of being non commercial or something...

i wud be really thankful for ur advice and suggestion.

It can be registered & used as a personal/private (non-commercial) vehicle.  There's no restriction on sharing the expenses & hiring a driver - in the way you propose to do - provided no business consideration is involved.
