I think keeping in mind of the demand of diesel vehicles even Tata didnt reduce India Vista prices after reduction of Vat

I think being a new product (and also a better one) the demand for Vista is high. Recently in a newspaper the growth pattern for Oct '08 was listed. And in that the manufacturer which had the least -ve growth happened to be TATA. I agree that this would also depend on the sales achieved in Oct '07. But as of now that is the data available. The list was topped by Honda (+ve growth) as the discount on Civic hybrid & new City generated enough heat.

Ofcourse the discount is available on all the other TATA vehicles. And i would like to believe that by giving discount on Vista, it would only do more harm than good.

Coming back to the carmaker in discussion. The parent company in the US (for Ford / Chevrolet) is facing tough challenges as the Govt bailout is not happening in the intended direction. Just saw that in the news. So i guess there would be lots of cut down in the near future from these companies. Ford is also slated to introduce a new small car in India. Let's see how it fares. One thing looks to be certain that discounts on petrol models would continue to keep the sales strong.
