Speaking in general... the prices have since come down. Currently CNG kits cost (after discounts) as low as 30-32K (down from 35-40K).  Compare the prices locally with a few other retrofitters. Do go for original Italian kit.

Hi all,

This thread seems to be doing a great job and source of very vital information for all going for CNG fitment.

I am planning to install the same in my Maruti Baleno LXi. I need some one to please help with the following:

1. Brand to go with

2. Cylinder (I prefer 14kg as i drive nearly 75 kn daily)

I took a latest quote from some of the dealers...its around 25k...nearly all brands...seems the brands are dealer specific rather than car specific...every other dealer is suggesting a different brand .

I took a quote from DD motors...they are charging 35k..including insurance, RC and warranty. {1500(insurance) + 5000 (warranty) +25500(kit)+ 3500(RC)}

Please suggest. I hope the above info is helpful.

Regards

In continuation of the above...

Aapkha Kharkhana janak puri has quoted Rs 31500 for Tomassto kit...where as the local dealers are quoting 24k (12 kg)...

Big price difference...the aakha kharkhana(Maruti Authorized) guy says he will use genuine fitting and parts.

Me also go the same quotation 31500 from Aapkha Kharkhana and didnt include the Advancer.Dont know why there is price difference of 6-7 thousands.

Anyone can put some light as to which parts they are refferring to for original spare parts which the other dealers are not giving? The price of kit itself must be similar.

Request reply oin the above queries as i need to finalise and install the CNG kit in my Baleno...

Moreover, I plan to buy a new car...and get the CNG kit installed from the dealer itself...The dealer is offering 3 year car warranty at a additional cost of Rs 5000.

1. Is the manufacturer warranty not valid post CNG installation

2. Is it worth to pay 5k for this.

Regards

Arjun

Company fitted CNG will be covered in the warranty but subsequent retrofitment will not - whether fitted by the dealer or from outside.  I don't know if there is some provision to cover the same under warranty at additional cost (like quoted by the dealer).  Please check/clarify.

As such, kits come with some or the other warranty.  Please also check/compare from outside retrofitters (price of kit/retrofitment & warranty).

Retrofitment of CNG kit will lead to loss of warranty on the vehichles but as warranty is a dealer's commintment and not of manufacturer, some dealers have agreement with CNG fitters in exchange of some commission to provide warranty as usual if a person gets CNG fitted through them. One of my friend asked the dealer to confirm the statement in writing that if he gets the CNG fitted through him the warranty won't lapse otherwise it would. When the dealer gave him the statement in writing he filed a case with MRTP after which the dealer agreed to provide warranty on the car fitted with CNG from an RTO approved CNG fitter.
