I read on a Team bhp review that the brakes are horrible in Xylo.Is it true? It is important as I am considering the E4 variant which has no ABS. Another thing, I visited a Mahindra service centre/godown in Marathally,Bangalore recently. There are many Xylos there. The salesman told me that there is no waiting period for most of the colours.Pay the money and take delivery the next day. Does that mean the sales have come down?

The brakes aren't the best but nothing horrible.  If Xylo suits your preferences/requirements well, please go ahead.  It's nice, comfortable & VFM.

Horrible brakes ?

Well, on taking the term literally, its "horrible" to say the brakes of any car are horrible!

The brakes of Every single car in the world has to pass all the brake tests and has to abide by certain laws also.

If it passes all tests and gets the certificates then only a car rolls out of the Factories.

True, since Xylo is VFM car, placed in the "Economical" zone of such car-types, its brakes are nothing special , but not bad either.

And the sales haven't quite gone down. Booking or no booking are nowadays part of sales tactics  more than anything else.

Cheers.

Xylo mEagle engine is very well performing engine. I can see everytime that Xylo's keep cruzing at good speeds on any roads and the suspension also feels very light as they pass by on speed breakers and potholes.

I just want to ask that I was thinking what difference would it make to put a mHawk engine of Scorpio in Xylo also. Will not that improve the perfromance of Xylo? If so, should Mahindra consider bringing a Xylo with mHawk engine of Scorpio?

The engine swap would be unlikely as the price and market place of the two cars have to be kept apart as both of them cater to different market segments.

A micro hybrid a la the Scorpio hybrid is quite a possibility with the xylo.

Xylo with Airbags has been launched (XYLO Airbags)

I think this is a great addition to an already VFM vehicle.

DO you think airbags should be made a standard and compulsory feature in all cars concidering safety of the passengers?

the brakes for this car just happen to work in a fine manner and there are nu goof ups in it , also that the xyo is enables with the ABS technology for brakes which is very very successful.

Hello everybody,I am new to this forum but after finding a topic that very well concerns me, couldn't resist loging in directly and answering to it.

Fellows,we in our family owned 2 innova cars since last 3 years apart from a few more models of different company cars.We were thinking of changing innova with a higher end version.BUT AFTER test driving XYLO(also seeing it closely as my friend purchased one) we have sold out both innova cars and purchased 2 new XYLO E4.

After 1 month of ownership i can proudly defend my desicion. The car are with great pick-up,giving milage of 12 kms/l in city. Some may argue but after 3 year ownership of innova i can prove a better judge. Its not like the INNOVA is a bad car,the XYLO is a total value for money(which probably matters most).I really refrain comparing both cars, each car has its own individuallity but beleive me the comparision is certainly not INNOVA v/s SUMO GRANDE.

Now for the brakes, every car has its own drag or kick response to everything. The Xylo response is neutral and everybody get tuned to what he drives gradually.

Hope u fellas won't mind my jumping in thread directly.Surprised
