Electric-more fuel efficient-devoid of steering feel

Hydraulic-less fuel efficient-better steering feel.

motor driven-its basically the electric one.

there is no clear winner-personally like the hydraulic one.

People say that If hydralic power steering fails then Can can be taken in Normal steering more But not the other types of power steering will work in normal mode, Is it true?
Motor Driven/Electric/Electronic all the three are same or there is any difference

EPS-ie the electric variety is an assist system-not the main drive system-so it is false that the steering will not work without the electronic unit.

To check this out-find a Maruti car with power steering-unlock the steering-but dont turn on the ignition-try turning the steering the wheels will move with more effort.Without the electrical power(ie igniton off) the electronic power steering is practically non funtional.Hope i have not confused you.

Motor Driven/Electric/Electronic -they all mean the same on a gross level-but there are differences like variable assist -which will be outside the scope of this thread.

So that means all power steerings will work in normal mode also , In case of any electrical/Hydraulic failure.
any specific reason for maruti car for suugesting Maruti or is it true for cars of all the makers.
This steering lock facility is available only in Maruti or in all cars , is it  present in   Hyundai i10 or not.

As your doubt was on electronic power steering systems-i suggested Maruti cars as they come with Electronic power steering systems.

Steering lock is present in all cars.

@Pradeep, you can go through the discussions (5 pages) in this thread also - it will definitely help.

Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

Good you have put up this topic. Would soon write an article on it.

The Electric and Motor are the same. And in electronic one, you can call it the thinking electric motor.

I would go for electronic power steering. It's lighter and easy to operate.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

As far as I know, The Spark uses simple  rack and pinion steering system.
