The worlds fastest car is the SSC Ultimate Aero TT.

The worlds fastest car according to the Guinness Book of World Records was awarded to the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. How did it become the worlds fastest car? it was awarded this title after a speed run across a Washington state highway that yielded an official average speed, as determined by the Guinness Officials, as being 256.19 mph.

Ok so maybe the Words fastest car won’t win ant beauty pageants  but you have to admit the Shelby Super Cars (SSC) Ultimate Aero TT is a hot car.

Apparently some have some have disputed it’s speed run despite Guinness’ involvement and calling it the fastest car in the world. Some attack the Aero TT and prefer to call the Bugatti Veyron a more elegantly styled automobile. Last I checked good looks didnt win speed records, but thats just me. Any way you look at it. The Shelby Super Cars (SSC) Ultimate Aero TT is worlds fastest production car.

In order to be the worlds fastest production model car you have to meet all the safety and emissions standards that production models face, as well as run on fuel from the average pump.

Some other facts about the The Ultimate Aero TT

The Ultimate Aero TT is also a luxury super car, it comes with: things such as

• a 10-speaker sound system,
• leather/suede upholstery,
• navigation system and an operable back-up camera.
• Also included is a front-end lift system that raises the nose of the car 4-inches to aid it in clearing rough roads.

Add to all of that the fact that the Ultimate Aero TT achieved its record run into the guiness book as the worlds fastest car with a twin-turbo V8 with 1183-hp and 1094 ft-lbs of torque while meeting emissions standards… which is another record that SSC is applying for with Guinness.

While the SSC Ultimate Aero TT now owns the bragging rights as the fastest production car in the world they still feel they have room to raise the bar a bit further. The body itself has been tested in the wind tunnel to withstand speeds of 273-mph. Since the record setting run was performed on a public road with an uneven surface it stands to reason that the Ultimate Aero TT could certainly stretch out its lead a bit further.

About the SSC Ultimate Aero-had the good fortune to see the same in person(see here)-might have the performance but is not a patch on the Veyron as a car!

Thanks Binoy. The reason why I opened a new thread "edit and delete buttons in posts" in "help us improve" was because of this. I was unable to add the souce information in my posts and thats when I realised about the changes.

Lucky you that you could see the utlimate aero in person. I too got lucky once when I was able to click my pic with a mustang and a Hummer H2.I also saw the nissan 350z, 370z and the corvette among others. Just made me drool over those beauties while they zoomed past me on the roads with the typical supercar noise.
