1. lambda is an electronic device fitted as an optional addition to the standard cng or lpg kit ( just like the timing advancer) .. once lambda is installed the gas system is also referred to as 'closed loop system'
2. in standard kits air-fuel mixture setings are done manually, whereas in the closed loop system this function is taken over by the lambda
3. all other things being in order, lambda does not aid pick-up
4. if you can visit your fitter once in 2 months for settings and your fitter is good at his job , lambda is best avoided
5. good quality lambda device should cost 3-4k over and above the standard kit costs including fitting charges
6. lambda can be installed by any good dealer who fits cng/lpg kits .. any make of lambda device can be fit on any brand of kit by any dealer even after fitment of the gas kit
7. no oxygen sensor or any other sensor is installed with the lambda .. the lambda is wired to the various sensors already existing in the car including the oxygen sensor
8. there are no confirmed reports that lambda helps performance .. it is merely a substitute for manual settings .. i have seen many cars perform much better on manual settings than on lambda .. so if your fitter is really good at settings , lambda is avoidable
