True.  In fact, in all probability these would mean so (as stated by Binoy), as the ones explained by me are rarely seen/available here.

Hi,

I am planning to buy a new car. I also have same requirements as Pradeep but usage is limited to weekends and occasional trips out side the city. My budget is 4 laks. Don't want to stretch more.

My preferences are 1)Enough leg room for my parents to sit in the backseats 2)Decent Mileage 3)Less maintenance 4)Reliability. I am planning to use atleast 4 years.

I am interested in Spark LT,Santro GL and wagnor LXI. I was considering Tata  Indica DLS, because of 2 of my friends very good feedback(they are using it for 2 years). But read the horror reviews in various forums and dropped it from my list. Is it really trouble some car??

Please suggest me which is better for my requirement. By the way, i am learning driving in Santro.

Hi Bala,

You can buy Chevrolet Spark LT, Most comfortable at rear. I used Santro too for quite a long time but experienced bad rear suspension recently in my Himachal Trip. Most of the time either I drove Santro (better than Wagon-r in driving) or else front seat. Bad, Bad rear suspension for Bad Roads. Thenafter I drove Santro in hills (for the first time) and my wife told me our Spark is far better than Santro at rear.

Sit at rear in Wagon-r, Santro & Spark and you will find space is almost similar.

No need to go for the Diesel car for your kind of usage.

Leg Room: Good enough in Spark.

Mileage: Spark is giving me 14kmpl and I got 12 from the santro & 12.25 from Wagon-r in city with a.c. Highway mileage of Spark is way better 18.6kmpl I got on the other hand 15kmpl from Wagon-r was the best figure. (with a.c.)

Maintenance: At par, even I feel Spark is cheap to maintain.

Realiability: No issue with any car whether Spark, Wagon-r or Santro. Check out Spark with all new Beige interiors.

Thanks Rajiv.

I will go to showroom tomorrow and will have a test drive of Spark. I still have a fear whether GM's bankruptcy results company being shutdown? Being the 1st car, thinking whether to take risk by purchasing Spark or to go for either Santro,i10 or Wagnor LXI.

Please suggest.

Yes, visit the showroom and take a test drive. Also, try to read the faces and see the environment, if something is going on internally, they cant hideLaughing. Lets hope for the best!Smile

Hi Rajiv,

Yeah it is difficult for any one to predict what will happen to GM. I don't think employees also will be having any ideaSmile.

I have read this entire thread(SOME 12 PAGES). I think most of questions are answered.

I will go to the respective showrooms of Spark and i10 and decide based on that. By the way i limited my budget to 4laks,as there is no end if we go on increasing budget.

So i wanted to check i10 Vera(comes nearly in my budget i think) instead of i10 Magna. Please give your comments.

The difference in the main features of i10 Era & Magna consist of Rear Wash Wiper, Tachometer & Defogger (Rear).  Besides, Magna is better on overall comfort, interior, exterior & equipment features.  Have a look at the comparison - go through the Features & All Features.  Magna is worth the difference in the pricing.

Hi,

I am back againSmile. I visited the Hundai and Maruti showrooms and checked Wagon R and i10 (magna) cars.I have test driven only Spark by myself. As i am new to driving i could n't dare to test drive i10 and Wagnor. My budget is 4 laks.I am hesitant to increase my budget to 4.5, so that i can go for i10 magna.

My usage is mainly in city(mostly week ends). And rarely trips outside the city. I want a car with good fuel efficiency and good driving comfort.

So please suggest me the best car among Spark(Please consider risk of buying this car, as GM's bankruptcy),Wagnor,Santro.

4 lacs can get you i10 era. I would give my vote for that.

Among, Spark/WagonR/Santro. I would give my vote for Santro/WagonR. Both are tried and tested and makes good numbers every month.

Spark is a good option if you like it.
