Hi Raghav,

Your choice should be Optra Magnum Diesel if you can stretch your budget a bit, Magnum D is too good a car to own. Installing CNG in any car is not a good idea coz warranty will be void and also power loss. Your usage is good enough to justify the need of a diesel car so, think about Optra Magnum D. Honda city ...anyday the best Petrol car but since your usage is too much, I will not recommend you a petrol car.

If your budget is not allowing you to pick Magnum D, you can consider fully loaded Ford Fiesta with airbags & abs also Fiesta is very very strong as far as structure is concern. I am using Fiesta and its ride & handling is superb.

Other option for you is Hyundai Verna (Though personally I dont like looks & ride quality as compare to Fiesta). Verna is having very good power.

Used Car: If your budget is limited than you can consider a used car and then I will recommend you only one car, Honda City! 2006 model Honda city. But, if your usage is on highway mainly than buy a Used Scorpio ... I guess Scorpio SLX will cost you around 5.5 to 6 lacs.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

@ raghav,

optra magnum D is the best car for ur type of usage. it has power, performance, space, comfort, features, one of the best suspensions & very good ride. it is damn powerful & gives good fuel economy too.

for ur type of usage diesel is the most suitable & there is no competition to the optra magnum diesel.

but than too please tell us ur budget & requirements in a car, so that we can help u out accordingly.

Optra Magnum D beats its competition by a long stretch except in mileage.

@ barakol,

magnum D gives good mileage & the considering the engine size & its power, mileage is pretty more than acceptable.

Who says magnum(D) doesnot give a gud average? Oops forgot to say HI.........Actually got too sentimental ;-) Well the only car you should go for keeping in mind ur daily usuage is Optra Magnum(D). Magnum (D) is not only a segment above the others but also the big daddy of all its competitors. The more i say about the car would be less. It is a mean machine, got stunning looks, turbo power, loves to sip Diesel (has got a stunning average of 14-15 kmpl under city driving conditions and above 18 kmpl on highway drives), the interiors are fabulous, the suspensions too gud, almost everything perfect. At the same time if i am not wrong it comes with discs on all its tyres. So saftey aspect is thoroughly covered.

At the same time as Dr. Fiesta ( i mean Rajiv bro) ritely pointed out, it wouldnot be a gud idea to install a CNG kit in the vehicle. It leads to 10-20 % of power loss, shortens the engine life, makes the warrnty void in case the kit is fitted through a local dealer. Buddy DONOT go for CNG installation in a new car atleast not in a luxury car. It takes the luxury out of the car.

Regards,
Rubal

The only practical draw back to the magnum is the relatively small boot space-oh and the petrol engine(just because the diesel is so much better).

no one said Optra D doesn't give good mileage but fiesta gives relatively better mileage compared to the competition and i'm sure Dr.Fiesta will agree
