Fiat-TATA has more service centers.

Palio Multijet is the best car that Fiat sells in India.

Palio MJ  gives 14-15kmpl in the city and around 20kmpl on the highways

As we all know, Spark is Petrol while Palio Multijet is Diesel..

Its not worthy to compare a Diesel Car with Petrol one.... are you sure you wanna compare Palio Multijet with Spark or Palio stile (Petrol)?

Palio stile v/s spark ... Build quality and little more space is plus with Palio otherwise Spark is better in all the other departments.

anyways.... tell us your Requirement, usage & budget first.

Palio Stile has 1008 CC engine that delivers 57 ps of power @ 5250rpm & 92nm of torque @ 2750rpm and generally gives mileage of 10/11 kmpl in city and 15/16 on highway.

Chevrolet Spark has 995 CC engine that delivers 63ps of power @ 5400rpm & 90nm of torque @ 4200rpm and generally gives mileage of 13/14 kmpl in city and 17/18 on highway.

Build quality of Palio is the best in all the small cars available in India but its kinda dated now, same old fashioned interiors no change at all but its spacious as compare to Spark.

On the other hand Spark is very peppy, very silent engine, interiors are very good if not the best, ride quality, suspensions, other features.... more importantly the price which one is paying. Maintenance is not a problem with Spark, almost 19000 covered by me till date since nov. last year... almost a year. The best mileage I got is 17.40kmpl in city without a.c. and regularly getting 14kmpl with a.c. on the other hand recently checked highway mileage and got 18.6kmpl (Tankfull to tankfull method). Max speed I touched till date is 140kmph and its very good at 20 even in 3rd gear.

If Spark than go for top model Spark LT.

Palio Stile is underpowered for its size & engine.  All cars, except M800 & Alto, generate more power than Palio.

Resale value is another negative of Palio - though Spark too is not very good on that aspect

However, overall performance, ride-quality & build of Palio are very good - a very steady & sturdy car it is.  It is spacious & comfortable too.

All in all & looking to your requirements/usage, I feel Spark would be a better choice for you.

@ sumit,

for 500kms a month diesel is not suitable & u should stick to a petrol car only.

in petrol car there are only the 2 best choice available to buy & that is spark & i10.

i10 has better technology, power, performance, more space & has best interiors in its class & if u go with the i10 than do go with the kappa engine.

spark is also very good car with great road presence, suspensions & build quality. if spark than go for the LT model.

have a look at both the cars, test drive them & than see which one suits u the most.

i would suggest that as u have a budget of 4.5lacs than go for the i10 kappa, the best car in its class.

Resale value of Spark is not bad really, I haven't seen any Spark for sale till yet at First Choice, yesterday I was there to make payment and today I am going there to take delivery of used Scorpio with my brother-in-law. Actually mostly Spark users are very happy with Spark, car is not troubling really, For resale purpose I used Carwale Tool, and result is as under:

Wagon-r VXi, Santro XO & Spark LT, April 2007 model in New Delhi with 15000 kms. running (Petrol cars so assuming 800 kms. per month's running), and Resale value if car's condition is good is,

Wagon-r Vxi: 2,98,100/- (Maruti is the best, service and maintenance factor).

Santro XO: 2,88,800/- (Resale is good because santro is doing good since long).

Spark LT: 2,75,800/-

Now price, I dont know what schemes maruti or hyundai is offering and what is the on road price of these cars during diwali but Spark's top model LT is available @3.75 lacs on-road with Cashless ownership offer. I guess there is not much difference in Lucknow's n Delhi's on-road price (Delhi is cheapest I guess).

So, considering all the factors, in my opinion Spark is worth a buy because its still fresh, very smooth engine, fuel efficient, better interiors, excellent ride & handling, very good at 20kmph in 3rd gear and great performer at 140kmph, quality suspension (Gas filled shock absorbers) & good resale value.
