if i can come to ur any help regarding ur buy than do tell me. i am also from mumbai.

Well i stay in kurla, more closer to Vidyavihar or so. well again id like to mention my needs:

1. spacious

2. gud engine

3. boot space is a must.

4. less maintainence i.e. cheap spart parts just in case i need to replace dem.

I have a swift and dad wants me to buy another car which has boot space. My dad really luvs the swift engine n feels its a very heavy duty one and wants me to buy sumthing similar.

Now in the expedition of buyin a new car i came across the dzire, accent , logan, indigo XL. in comaprison to dis on paper indigo XL is the best car in all in terms of everythin i want. But i wana know from u guys howz d car in terms of driving n engine etc etc. As i said am i makin a right decision?

The honda city also as i have sat down in that is not as spacious as the Indigo XL. If im nt askin 2 much if u guys out of ur busy schedule can jst go to sum showroom or ask any1 to allow u to sit in the car n check of the difference den ill b able to get the exact response frm u.

I have many ppl who have told me about diff cars bt den when i made dem sit n see the car dey had diff opinions. dats y i cum to u guys 2 get a  neutral answer.

Thanx a tonne one n all. keep writing in!!!!

Maybe you should have a look at the Tata Safari and also the logan before making a decision.

the XL is not a good buy as you are not an exclusively chauffeured person.

Please look his budget of 7 lakhs max, how a Safari he can have in this budget?

Mr Britto,

I read all these threads. As per me A Indigo LX would be most suitable to your needs. Its not as long as XL, but same width, same boot space, spacious with many of the features like PS,PW, Fog lamps, Central locking, key/door warnings etc are available in this Top end Indigo model. Its a diesel engine so all benifits specified by Pankaj (so will not repeat)

Its price is 6 lakhs and now we are getting a discount around 30K. So well in your budget.

I had purchased it in May 08 at on road price of 5.60 Lakhs. Its superb as per my experience and the price it comes.

Try a TD if not taken yet.

Thanks,

Rajesh

@ mawil,

wat u r buying a rear legroom space or overall a car???

indigo xl has good space at the rear but is not a great car to drive & petrol not at all, it will be just that u r paying more than 6lacs for just rear leg room.

honda city also has so much of rear legroom & it has great comfort levels & honda city's boot is just amazing, it can just swallow anything & everyting. it gives good milegae, has good performance, interiors are top notch & is a car worth owning,

u cant compare a honda with a tata. honda is honda.

as u have a budget of 7lacs plus, as per me honda would be the best buy, as u have a opportunity to buy as it is being offered with huge discounts, else u cant own a honda in ur budget.

i would suggest u to go & see the car at arya honda worli or any other honda showroom near ur place, take a test drive & than see the difference.

if u want to go with indigo only than its a different thing, but if u want to buy a car & that too a good one than i would suggest u to buy the honda city ZX.

Hi again.... after break

So, confusion is still in Mawil's mind.... after reading all your posts.... I think Indigo XL is the car you like most.... See... you cant get everything in any car... every car has some pros n cons.... if rear comfort is your priority.... well even Indica Vista Quadrajet is providing good enough comfort at rear ... same with Indigo CS..... So, pick the one which is comfortable enough as well as with Great Heart and quality features!

Overall, Honda City V/s Indigo XL ... Indigo XL is no way near City in performance, quality & mileage.... even you will get the best Resale value from Honda City.... resale of indigo xl.... well ... its not very good, no one wants to buy this car when other good options are available.... brand image... I bought Xeta GLG when eveyone was saying car is bad, engine is not good, mileage is poor....but I bought it and I am satisfied too.. though I know.... resale value is nothing!.. so ...its your decision!... well, someone suggested SRV, fantastic car.... but who is buying? who wanna buy a super hatch over 7 lacs in india?? I like it very much and I can buy even SRV... and today I saw 2 brand new SRV's ..one black n other one was red... after such a long time..... you can consider even SRV if you want Quality and want to use a car with different looks & style.... always remember..... Kabhi kisi ko mukammal jahan nahi milta lol

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

Na logan is not gud at all. As i have already meantioned the 4-5 cars earlier I have test driven each one of them and logan was the worst of the lot. Really bad driving pleasure.infact no driving please. horrible dash board and the only plus point was the space in the rear and the boot space. Really wouldnt advice any1 for the logan as the top end model cums up to Rs6.7L. NOT WORTH IT

Well, I'm not advocating for Logan but it isn't that bad. Interiors are definitely poor vis-a- vis others in its segment.  Regarding driving pleasure.. well, I don't find it horrible - I have driven it a little in city & 200+ kms on highway (Bhavnagar-Vadodara).

Resale value of Logan too isn't very good.  Between XL & Logan, XL is an obvious choice (for anyone) - it has much more than the rear legroom. Anyway!

You have yourself done a good research & have test-driven quite a few cars.  There's no point in getting confused.  All cars are good in themselves - there's always a better car & there's no end to it.  Go for the one that suits you all in all; your preferences, likes/dislikes & budget.

Hey guys,

Was going out for an outing yestreday and just happened to see a TATA showroom on the way. So, I stepped in and asked him about the indigo XL and stuff. The executive there told me that the indigo XL engine will not support a CNG or LPG if i decide in future to install one. Can some one validate this. He also said that I i did put one then the warranty will be void from tata's end.

Also, he said that if i take a normal indigo he could fit in a CNG n give it to me.

Now, i need to know 4 things:

1. Was his first statement true regarding the CNG/ LPG cannot be installed in Indigo XL?

2. Is it better to have the  CNG company fitted  or by one self

3. Is a CNG or LPG better for my type of usage as I have mentioned before that my usage is very less and also might not be everyday?

4. Is a CNG/LPG advisable to be put in the first place?

Cheers!!!

@ mawil,

if u go in for a cng/lpg than it is better to be fitted by company so that it includes in the warranty & u get backup from tata itself.

cng/lpg is not advisable for ur type of usage as u have very low running.

cng/lpg is not advisable in 1st place as it reduces the performance of the car, if onlyy u cant afford the fuel price than only go for cng/lpg considering that ull have loss of performance & as per ur running it will be difficult to cover the price that u pay for the kit initially, so would suggest to stay away from cng/lpg.

1) statement made is false-CNG can be fitted

2)Company fitted is better

3)CNG/LPG work only on economics-nothing else-so if money saving is the only criteria then the CNG/LPG makes sense.

4) please refer 3)
