How many kilometers have the car run in total?

the problem could be at two place for erratic low speed idle.

1) fuel delivery-fuel pump/lines and injectors have to be checked.

2) compression in the cylinders-for a 10 year old car it is essential to get that checked.

Is it getting OFF when A/C is on or off ?. If it is running fine without A/C, But stops only if A/C is switched  on then i suggest you get your FICT kit checked for proper functioning by a good A/C mechanic.I had the same problem before.

The problem is when the clutch is pressed during gear shift. After a ride of 5 or more kilometers. It is without a/c on sarath. Do i need to get the fuel pump serviced. What do you mean by compression in the cylinder. Pls advice binoy. And i get only 9 to 10 km mileage both in city and high way driving.

And one mechanic told me that engine is little weak. Need to change rings after 10 k to 20k km of run. And the exhaust smoke is white not black.

Sri you still have not mentioned the total kilometers the car has done--as i suspected the head/gasket/rings are gone and the compression in the cylinders have come down(thats what the mech is saying-engine is weak)-you can measure the compression of each cylinder-most probably the block has to be re-bored and new rings/pistons installed-also the smoke points to the severity of the problem-i would not advice you to keep running this car as it can lead to a seizure.

changing rings alone may not help-maybe a rebore and oversized pistons will be needed-this only a good mechanic can tell.

still waiting for the total KM figures for your car.
