Thanks for the scoop-there are no big redesigns on the 2009 model Jazz so will look like the model on sale now.(beats the covering up part though).

Guys, Estate version of Honda City sold elsewhere other than India was called Honda Jazz / Fit. Sedan version (= ditto our Honda City) was/is called Fit Aria. So why drool..? Even in the photographs posted, it looks like Honda City (interior photos show a trend to move to Civic-like components - note the steering)..

We Indians are perpetually fooled by Car Mfrs. - Zen was called Alto outside, Verna was supposed to be a replacement for Accent, Hyundai India blithely sells both side-by-side, Similar stories can be told about a lot of models... Thats why we have a plathora of models disproportionate to our car market size. Real choice is very less.

Krishna,

Honda city and Jazz/Fit are two different vehicles although they share the same platform.

Both Jazz and city are sold in UAE.

Have a look into this link. It states the above although it is not quite updated.

There is no question about fooling. Everyone who read papers knows that A* is the alto outside. Verna is the Accent sold outside. However Accent/Alto are still retained in india owing to the demand they have.

Couple of highlights for Indian auto market.

i10 had its global launch here.

A* and i10 - both cars have their manufacturing hub here.

New honda city is not available in UAE (or middle east) yet.

To add the Honda Jazz/Fit is not an 'estate' version but hatchbacks.
