My overall budget is 6 - 7 lacs. And monthly usage shall be 1000 km (including city & highway). please suggest which car to buy. It is also a myth that ford cars dont perform better in fuel version. is that true; please guide & help me finalising my car.

With a budget of 7 lacs- none of your choices figure!
Consider these

Fiesta EXi
Verna i
Aveo LS
SX4 VXi(slightly over budget)

Instead of buying the base versions of the C segmenters why not consider the
Logan and dzire is higher trim levels for the same money.
Write in with other details like-number of passengers/other priorities like boot space resale concern etc for a better picture.

Besides, though your monthly run (1K) is not substantial, you can consider a diesel car if you plan to own/use the car for 5 years or so.  But then, diesel cars cost a little more than their petrol counterparts. Just give a thought.

hello manish,

in ur case diesel would be a better buy & if u r ok with a hatchback than the indica vista quadraget aura makes more sense to buy, & if u would like to stick to a sedan than for a diesel ull have to stretch ur budget & in petrol fiesta & verna are good.

With monthly running of 1000 kms. one can consider diesel car, upto 1000 kms petrol car is okey though but diesel can be consider coz if someone will hold car for more than 3-4 years, diesel is better choice and also resale value of diesel cars are slight better than petrol cars.

Your budget will not suit otherwise you can wait for new honda city. In these cars Honda city is most reliable, SX4 is having good package and Fiesta 1.6 is driver's car. Test drive all the options and see which one is good for you as per your priorities and liking.

As suggested by Binoy, you can consider Logan D or Dzire D too but frankly speaking if someone is thinking about above mentioned 3 cars, only Logan's higher model is worthy, Somehow, I dont think Dzire is  having great road side appearance, though its a very good car.

If you can afford the Honda City ZX Exi , i would advice you to go for it but wait for a month so that they will you more discoutn , coz the new city is due in a month or 2 , hence expect the present ZX Version to sell for around 20k discount or more Soon!

if you are looking for a DIesel and if you are ok with the looks of the Dzire , go for the Dzire if not then the Ford Fiesta Diesel Exi wud be a good choice!

i would suggest to stretch your budget a little and go in for the City. the city has got very good road presence and pretty good fuel efficiency. the SX4 looks robust but it lags behind than the city in fuel efficiency. also honda is known for its quality. so its always a better option to go in for the city in the cars mentioned by you

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!

@ manish,

it would be wise to wait for a month as the new linea is also coming & the new city too, so see the cars & than if u dont like u can buy the car which is currently there, but in case if u go with a new car than u get a newer technology & a fresh product.

Everything depends on need, if need is now, pick one from your listed options or if you are not in hurry, u can wait for New city and Linea. But budget should be better for new city and linea.

Also, as suggested by Binoy earliar, for VFM point of view you can also consider Aveo 1.4, great interiors and if you are going to keep the car for more than 5 years, well resale is not a problem and also its in ur budget, its always good to buy a car under your budget. Car is good, earliar  had some problem with gear shifting but they resolved and also if you check user reviews, well majority is happy and satisfied with the performance of Aveo. So, in my opnion its just another option for you.
