Rajesh,

Warm Welcome to CarWale.

1) Art leather seat covers start from 3k.

Steering cover from 300.

Progrip leather steering cover comes at 600. Its an awesome one. No option for twin tone though.

Praveen - He is the man to help you. He has recently gotten his seat covers done in chennai.

2) Headlight upgrade starts from 1500. Philips is the brand to look at.

Same price for Fog lights.

Thanks Ameen for your suggestions.

Regarding Leather seat covers -  there is a perception that sitting on leather seat covers gets heats up the body on long trips - whether it holds true. If thats the case what are other good options I can look at. Also which type of seat covers has more durablity.

How about Gsports Covers - which is the best quality in the range of 3K-5K.

Headlight - can you please suggest which make of Philips I should go - from the forums I believe Xtreme Power 60/55W and Rallye 100/90W are good. Of the two which gives more illimination,  good throw of light and durablity.

Whether adding 100/90W have any effect on clear headlamp lens in Santro Xing.

Fog Lamps - please suggest the product and wattage I should go for.

Chennai Members,

Can anybody suggest good shops to get the branded healights and good quality seat covers.

Once again thanks for all your help.

Leather seats getting hot is not a perception-but a reality-choosing lighter colors and using sun films can solve the problem to a certain extend.

Another option is to use fabric in the body contact area's but this setup is not very durable.

Its unlikely G-sport covers will come for 5K(ie original)-a good accessories shop should be able to give you the required art leather covers for less then 5K.

100/90 watt bubls will require installation of a relay and hence tinkering with the electrical system-also there is the remote possibility of the reflectors and the lens on the headlight going dim.

The 100/90 w surely gives more light compared to the 55w bulbs-but the latter is 'plug and play' no modifications needed.

The xtreme power bulbs are the top of the range-quite costly and have poor life-the normal 'vision plus' bulbs are real VFM.

Fogs-there are  many-Lumax/Minda/Bosch-these are some recommended brands-cost will be from 1.5-3K for a pair.

Binoy,  It is not a fact that leather seats are "hotter" than other materials. It is a myth. I lived in Abu Dhabi and the summers are very hot. But my after market natural leather seats from conolly ( now closed down) were excellent and felt better than the fabric seats I had in my earlier car.

What you say can be true if the seats are made from corrected grain leathers and heavily pigmented.

G sport is PVC and PU and "artificial Leather" is a misleading term , Leather is as we know animal hide. It is not durable and smells bad in heat.

Leather is about FEEL and color is just a small aspect. The best leather would chrome free, natural grain leather seats for any climate.  As I mentioned in another post, this company in Bangalore that sells seats made from this high quality leather from sweden. This is their website www.karlssonleather.com

This post is edited to delete/remove the 'quote' (same as previous post; NOT required, therefore).

Here's a link on Leather - nice info on forms & types of leather with explanations (in general).

Binoy,  It is not a fact that leather seats are "hotter" than other materials. It is a myth.

Then this must be a subjective aspect-as i always found fabric seat covers cooler than the leather counterparts(suprisingly so do almost all users with dual experiances of both that i come across). In fact an aquaitance changed the factory stock leather seats to fabric covers because he could not bear the heat.

Well I would totally second Binoy on this.

Although it is subjective.

In my personal experience spanning countries, I've always seen fabric seats to be cooler than Art Leather/Pure leather etc.
