Does the automatic climate control in cars work by occasional opening of the air intake vent automatically. Lets imagine we are crossing a stretch of road where there is lot of dust and the automatic climate control suddenly opens the air intake vent...something that is not desired.

means that the car reads where there is direct sunlight/heat and at that side of the car, the a/c is more effective.

for eg. the sunrays are coming in from 1 side, the a/c automatically colls that side more that the side in the shade.

Yes, Automatic Climate Control is basically a feature of AC, say an advanced AC, that automatically adjusts the temperature suitably (inside) - depending upon the enviornment/temperature (outside).

Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

Climate control - IS automatic!!

'temp getting adjusted on the sides' - that's Dual/split zone climate control.

-first to hear about 'the sun getting detected' - there is nothing like that.

Everything works on a simple thermostat.

I want to know whether it opens the air intake vent automatically for controlling the temperature. If you are travelling on a dusty patch of road and have the auto climate on, then it might allow the dust into the car while doing so. I read that in some forum.

Yes thats true the climate control does switch to out side air about 20% of running time - this is a safety feature.

Automotic climate control does not do anything that you can not do with a normal AC. The only convinience is that it does it all by itself. All you have to do is set a particular temperature and chose between internal or external air circulation. It does NOT cool one side more than the other, or open or close to outside air in case of dust etc. or detect sunlight or any other thing of this sort.

All it will do is maintian the temperature in side the cabin to what you have selected. You can also chose between internal circulation or outside circulation. Outside dust will not come in as there are air filters to prevent those, but yes, if there is some foul smell outside (eg. you are passing a garbage dump) then that will make its way inside the cabin.

YES it does-these features are not available on the SX4-does not make it not available in any other car.

Dual zone and triple zone climate control will sun angle sensors are part of many climate control systems in expensive cars
