audi a6 or bmw 5 series or mercedes e class

been driving the 2000 528i for the past 8 years in NY. have just moved to Mumbai. addicted to the 5 series, so I looked at what's available here in Mumbai. Pricing is ridiculously expensive here, and even the 520d is beyond my budget. But my heart is with the BMW and looks like I just have to stretch my budget for the 520d (absolutely cannot afford anything else and am quite satisfied with the 520d after my test drives). 

Three questions:

1) How does the pricing on 520d compare versus the Merc 220 diesel and equivalent Audi A6 ?

2) Is pricing on 520d expected to drop anytime soon (over the next month, and over the next 6 months) ?

3) 3 series is too small for me, but 320d remains an option if pricing is fairer or if there is more scope for bargains on this. Thoughts ?

the A6 Quattro 3.0L diesel is the best car to have between 40-50lacs ex-showroom.

@ Ashwin , i know you want a bigger car but since you are just after negotiation ok with the 3 series , i prefer you to try out the Audi A4 and the new Merc C class!!!

I think the new E class would be a better bet than the audi or the beamer. 

With the whole blueEfficiency thing that Merc has going, its cutting edge technology and eco friendliness available, which is much better than the others.

difference between an E-class and A6...? Year 2000 and Year 2010 Mercedes still needs to look beyond yr 2000. A6 is miles ahead in terms of technology and comfort.
