hi!

thanks  ,   we used to be in bombay    anyway  currently   our home is chennai

i will try to enquire for a reliable  bmw   dealer and any help or tips or suggestions   will  do good

also got this one doubt  why  is it that car  models  that are available in other parts of world say of  bmw or merc or even  honda or maruti  are not   released in india also simultaneously  ??

is it because of our taxation structure???  or is our car market bit diiferent???or is it because of our roads?

daily usage will be  around   30-40 kms

i am thinking of diesel version  what do u suggest?

Yeh the BMW Diesel is a better choice , if not i feel you could also go for the New Audi A4 which looks good but is one segment lower than what you want! incase u ditn like the A4 then 530d shud be your choice for your husband! yup 530d is a diesel! and for 30 - 40 kms oper day usage diesel is an ideal choice!

Cheers,
Sri

yes for ur usage pattern diesel would be most suited & BMW 530d highline would be the best buy.

i dont think there will be a manual version also but for sure there will be dsg gear box in which u can run the car on automatic & manual mode both witout the use of clutch.

for more features u can visit BMW's india's site.

hi!

thanks for that info it really helped but anyway there was a lot of stuff that i just didnt understand of  anyway  all those technical details    make me feel its  pretty good one to go for.

have booked for a testdrive   day after tomorrow  in evening at 5pm

i think i  might just go for it     the only  one doubt thats left to me is

we have  mercedesC220 has completed more then  40000kms   and  my husband loves it pretty much so is the transition  from that to bmw  gona be easy?/?

though personally  i just  felt    the merc was  too hard / heavy and not nice to drive. I prefer driving the Vtec anyday. The Mercedes is good for backseat travel with the chauffeur driving it." I also feel  the reverse gear selector and handbrake operations more complicated than they need to be.

hello,

ur husband will love to drive a BMW it is a pure driver's car with lots of fun & excitement, once after driving a BMW may ur husband not like to drive ur mercedes.

if u want to spend little less than even BMW 3 series is there, but who loves driving & want to playy with its car & have fun than anyday BMW would be the best buy.

hi!

yesterday i had test drive of  bmw 530d highline  and a6 as well

the dealer at audi said there   is definitely a new a6 but exactly when he is not sure of   so i ruled it out for we are not going to replace  in next 5 years  and for bmw 5 series there isnt gona be any new one coming up intill 2011-12

my testdrive with bmw530d highline was  just  excellent   BMW’s 235bhp, 50.96kgm rocketship. Basically the 525d motor with 44 more horses under the hood, the 530d takes a good thing and makes it even better.  This gives you the impression that you are not going as quick as you think you are, as there is no sudden surge of g forces on acceleration. What you get instead is a sustained shove in the back that stays as long as you have your right foot pinned to the floor of the car. And then the fantastically stable chassis and bags of grip mask speed even better. So instead of doing a quick 120, like you think you are, you are actually ripping along at 150.which is a fact for i never drived more then 100 in my city vtec i went 160  on bmw 530d  ...and it feels like its going at 60-80kmph

. With a stupendous 500NM of torque and 235 horses on tap, the 530D can dismiss the 0 – 100 in about the same time as the 530i. Mid-range packs a mighty punch too, and this engine makes the 530d amongst the best performance sedans in the country. Good thing is, the engine appeals to the heart as much as it does to the head. The 530d is actually a re-tuned version of the previous 525D and delivers its power in the same progressive manner. Once warmed up, the engine has its noise levels well under control. It has  good  refinement, drivability and fuel-efficiency of either smooth-revving diesel.gera box is sports mode , which ensures that you stay in the meat of the powerband at all times. Make no mistake; this is an out and out driver’s car which loves corners from the word go. The handling package is far more agile than that of Audi and Mercedes.  steering is exceptionally sharp and direct,  Grip levels are solid while electronic aids like traction control, stability control and ABS ensure safety. You can literally make it dance around corners!

and next i felt 530 gives me enough power for indian roads and gives me a feeling when i sit in it that i am in heaven with all the pampering it gives u .
this is my view and could be wrong but what made me go for 530 instead of A6 is
1. interiors
2. size
3. gadgets

'rake and reach' steering is Electronically adjustable
530d Highline has one extra feature - Infrared Nightvision Camera.
. Full fledge MMI in Audi is situated on the dash near the air conditioning buttons and unlike BMW's idrive knob is next to the hand brake and i felt BMW's was much easy to access than Audi's

5. TRUST ME THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
THE SERVICE PACKAGE THEY HAVE WHICH COST 2.70 LAKHS WHICH WILL TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING INCLUSIVE OF MY PARTS AND LABOUR COST FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS OR 100000 KMS WHICH EVER COMES FIRST .

that also seems tempting

correction more gadgets in a6 then in bmw

in a week i might book the bmw 530d  highline
