audi a6 or bmw 5 series or mercedes e class

hi!

new to post   ,    and dont have much idea  of cars    want to   gift  a car to   my  husband   on his birthday  

i am bit confused in making up my mind between audi A6 3.0 tdi quatro    & bmw 5 series  530d highline  & merecedes e-class  280 cdi elegance  & volvo s80  dont have idea about its models

need a perfect driver's car    as he loves to drive    but at sametime with no compromize on luxury    and comforts and drive safety  are  the prority 
milege isnt  an issue

so far in my research through couple of friends is that

audi a6  is good  on looks and comfort   but  ride quality isnt good  
bmw  is a good driver's car  but  my friends said interiors arent comparable to  a6
mercedes e class dont know much of it
volvo s 80 dont know much  only heard it looks  pretty

if ur hubby is found of driving & need a pure driver's car than the bmw is for u. it has great driving dynamics & great pleasure to drive with lots of fun & it is good on luxury too.

audi A6 again a very good car is also great on style with good driving pleasure.

mercedes i feel is much of a executive car, who has to sit back & enjoy so rule out mercedes & volvo from ur list.

choose between bmw & audi which ever u like but than too BMW is more of fun.

Yes as Deepam says the BMW is the ubiquitous drivers car.The A6 will be soon replaced by the new A6 and that might be a worthy competitor to the BMW.
The info that interiors of the BMW are not as good as the A6 would be against the prevalent wisdom.

& with BMW's refreshed 530d that is the highline, it would be the best pick of the lot.

i had look at bmw and a6 and merc and have eliminated merc and volvo for my friends said its not comparable to brand value of others and merc   as i didnt like it much when compared with these two

have researched a bit more through my friends and have found
more for's  to bmw then to a6 

and found that  a6 has
Supreme level of build quality
good styling
Ultra-smooth transmission (CVT)
Well-sorted ride and handling (AWD)
Safety features and equipment list

things that were against are
 
Exceedingly expensive to repair
Front end styling not to everyone’s taste
Lack of image (vis a vis Mercedes & BMW)
Limited service backup
 Electronic malfunctions, multi-tronic transmission

regarding bmw

NAME -value, and muscular styling
Fabulous build quality; inside and out
Driver-oriented nature with excellent dynamics
Class leading interior space
Excellent diesel engines
High level of safety

the against was
Higher price than the Mercedes E-Class
Stiff ride quality
bit inconvenient  when driving in city traffic at low speeds

now i am bit confused  becoz

my husband will use it daily for his office   so is it gona be inconvenient with 18inch wheel size and run flat tyres  so is it gona feel bad for city driving?

need some clarification on this from you experts  and any existing users????
and also when exacty is the new a6 scheduled to be launched????

no it will be not inconvinient to drive a BMW in city driving dont worry about that, it is just that that model is designed considering that wheel size & tyres. & it comes in automatic transmission so it will be convinient for city use & will be a hassle free drive.

BMW 530d highline would be the best buy.

i am thinking of having a testdrive of  bmw 530d  i have never done a test drive  so  can u tell me  what i have to do  ??? and is it possible to have test drive   immediately whenevr we like to?

also would like to when is the new a6 expected?will it be within  one month ?

when u go for a test drive go for a 530d highline, yes testdrive is offcourse possible & whenever u want u can get it & whereever u want.

while taking a test drive feel the car, see how the car responds, check the comfort level, sit at the back also & let the driver drive so u can feel how the back seat is & how the car takes the bumps & rough roads.

i m not sure about the new A6's launch & have not heard also.

the new A4 was going to come & its already been launched.

& liya wat be ur daily usage for the car be in kms?
