buddy No use conversion of diesel into CNG as no cost benefits since disel so lowly price and delivers more mileage. So if u wanting tht better go for diesel vehcile.CNG in petrol no fun to drive.

Hi,

Can I install a CNG kit to run a diesel car? Are there any diesel engine cars which come with factory fitted CNG kits? I'm planning to buy a Swift VDI(ABS) and run it post installing a CNG kit? Any technical or other issues there? Do Maruti dealers install CNG kit in new diesel or petrol cars? Post installation of CNG in Swift diesel/petrol, is there any boot space left?

Regards,

Car Buyer

Hi...you can convert a diesel car to CNG with two ways. First the dedicated type wherein you alter the diesel engine into a spark ignition like a petrol engine and then convert it to CNG. Another option is to make it bi-fuel by substituting some amount of diesel with CNG making a savings of 30-40% and better power and lower emissions. Conversion by altering the engine is quite expensive and not feasabile unless there are volume of cars like a fleet to be converted.
