In LPG, the best available option is a Spark LPG Only one point to consider and that is availability of GM service centre. The best technology, minimum power loss, Cute car and good interiors and good mileage on LPG (around 15kmpl). As compare to Santro its a better car even Rear seat comfort (suspension) is far better. Santro's rear seat is bumpy (on bad roads). Also, I feel its dated now. Too many on-roads. Road presence of Spark is also better.

I am using Spark LT (petrol) without any problem, maintenance is cheap and mileage is good. Covered over 25400 till date since November 2007.

checked out the price of spark, they offer 35k discount on petrol, and 25k on lpg.

further 3000 corp discount and 5000on non metallic black paint. hence petrol version comes to just 3.25 lacs on road cochin

Truly spark is value for money buy in this segment.

but as said by rajiv, very few service stations is a hindrance. My primary use is on weekends on highways only (300kms max). in case of any emergency/breakdown the service availability may be a problem.

what do you guys suggest? Im confused b/w spark, wagonr and santro. Will alto be ok on highways?

What is your budget ? Howmuch you can stretch it ? What i feel that you should drop the idea of buying all mentioned cars because you want to keep it for very long period.

I dont think you need to worry about any breakdown. I dont think any car will give you trouble before 3-4 years (if maintenance is proper). And I feel after 3-4 years you will find more and more service points of GM here & there. Also, trust our road side mechanics for any minor fault, they can fix any minor problem. You are buying a brand new car not a used one so dont worry. May be I am saying this because till date no such bad experience though I used Maruti, Tata, Ford & GM cars.

Proper service is all what you need. If you want to go on long journey only a check-up is require.

thanks Rajiv,

You really helped me make a decision. Spark-Petrol is the verdict for now. And conversion later if usage increases petrol prices increase w/o corresponding increase in lpg. B'cos there is a price differential of nearly 35-40k between lpg and petrol versions.

The discussion forum and the site has been of great support to me.

Will definitely keep in touch and update regarding my experiences with the car. My purchase will be in Aug w/o a loan.

will keep u all posted...

thanks

prasanth
