.......... The point you mentioned Bhushan is good, mostly city use ... Vista will give much better response.

It doesn't mean that it would be mostly preferred for city use.  The added advantage with it would be that engine response at lower speed too would be comfortable - more comfortable than compared to others.

Indica Turbo DLG & DLX versions have 14 inches wheels while Turbo DLS & other versions (non-turbo) have 13 inches wheel.  The ride-quality of DLG/DLX is better than that of DLS.

I'm a bit surprised to learn that Vista TDi (1.4) & Quadrajet (1.3) have 13 inches wheels - why this reduction?

That's true. It (higher torque available @ lower rpm) is just a benefit that could be experienced i guess more in cities. It would definitely come in handy on the highways when one would be typically doing 80/90kmph @ around 1800-2000rpm in the 5th gear. In such cases for overtaking we could probably downshift to 4th (or maybe 5th itself could be sufficient, just increase rpm a little!!) and speed up with lesser stress on the accelarator. Similarly we can benefit in city, probably with the 3rd gear itself.

I think that with fewer gear shifts, marginal improvement in mileage could be experienced.

Yes, very true - but for accelarating from 80/90 while overtaking, I feel a downshift to 4th gear may not be required in normal circumstances.

Mileage depends on driving habits and driving conditions, the avg. mileage of swift in city is in between 16-18kmpl in city.  Since, heart is same...we can expect similar mileage from Indica Vista.

Vista being bigger and heavier than swift, mileage may be marginally less. Probably at par with Dzire
