how can the company make such a big mistake by putting in 'wrong gear ratio's'-this is beyond logic-kindly provide some clarification-thanks
The company did. I have confirmed it with my friend. And yes I mean incorrect gear ratios itself. Some mistake in the calculations. But the problem isn't related to the thread starter, as in that case the gear shifting had to be very accurate (as per the speed of the car)and nothing else. I'm myself a Palio fana nd I didn't like it when I heard that.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

from all that i can gather the palio gearbox is not a made for india one but present in all other markets including Brazil-now only if this could be confirmed by some official statement or reference-it would be hard for all to take this in.

Prabu,

I my self drive Palio & has never faced any problem. I suggest you to go to FIAT site & give your complain. I have done this in past for very small issues & I was always attanded. Do let me know which city you are from???

Go to the help line , write your complain to the highest authority & followup with them.. I am sure you will be attanded & the preoblem will be ractify. I am sure company shoul even replace the same as it must be under warrenty... so dont shyy away...  go to the company ... via e mail & then make sure u are attanded tthru a good big FIAT dealer in your city....... SPeak only to one person with the dealer ... i.e service head & subit your complain in writting .... You have paid for the car in their bad times & they will have ti live by it...

Do let me know...

Yes. It is the gear ratio. If I'm not mistaken it was the first and the fifth gear.

Mustang is there any proof for the claim-that is what we are all looking forward to-not hearsay.

I have not heard about any gear problems from owners/users I know - nor have I experienced so. The gears & the clutch are, however, not very smooth/light (relatively).

what proof will the friend in question be having?

-his testimony or some document?

-why i am dragging this issue is because the allegation of 'wrong ratio's' in the gear box is a serious one and the manufacutrure can file for damages in a court when the same is entertained in a public forum like this.

By the way, just a little off-track (in general)...

While discussing the negatives, if any (any car), we should always use guarded words/language

Fiat has already settled the issue. And if even has the proof he won't give it as his Dad is a Tata dealer. So why would he drop the axe on his own feet. You understand what I mean?
