@ sanjay,

if u planning to buy the magnum D than it is the best choice available in that segment & is a very good car with great power & performance. it has good space & comfort also. magnum D's gearbox is very good & steering has good weight so while driving in city ull feel a bit hard but is npot a problem as u have driven octavia also & octavia's steering also feels hard in city traffic but on highways its a total different story.

without any second thoughtr to ur mind go for the magnum D & if u go for the LT model tha u get good features like airbags, abs, leather seats, steering wheel & gear knob, 2-din mp3 player & climate control ac.

What about the gear shifts & steering in Optra Magnum? I own an Accent and have driven Honda City, Octavia Diesel, Fiesta Diesel etc, and, if we forget diesel and petrol differences for a moment and focus purely on performance/driving experience, I feel Honda / Hyundai gear shifts are much smoother and steering lighter/easier than in the Magnum. Also, the Magnum has a good pick-up from 1st/2nd gear only, while in the 1.5/1.6L petrol cars, I get a good pick-up even from 3rd/4th gear! Any comments on these points? I am planning to buy the Magnum though.

How good are Magnum's 4 wheel disc brakes (w/o ABS)? I am getting a good discount on the LS (black colour). While I can live without loaded features like upholstery, superior music system & climate control, the lack of ABS & airbags in the LS variant worries me a bit. My max usage will be in city and my high-way drives are not more than once in 2 months.

Its true the Japanese and the koreans shift better-but that should not be a sole buying decision-the Petrol Magnum does not make any sense-the diesel does though!!

@ sanjay,

if u r getting a good discount on the LS than its worth buying as magnum without abs is also a safe car & it has disc brakes on all 4 wheels.

u r going with the magnum D LS na?

Costs of 'Total Maintenance Cost' & 'Cashless Offers' for 3 years 'may or may not be included' in the price of the car.  Please check that with the dealer.  In the meantime, you may have a look at this LINK & other discussions.

Sanjay, Cashless Ownership is an offer from GM and here in my city they are selling and telling on-road price including Cashless Ownership Offer. If one opts for Cashless ownership at the time of buying GM will provide him Service Free of Cost, You need not to pay a single penny for next 3 years. GM is charging for this or not? this is other thing but this is such a good offer in my opinion coz generally you will hear that GM's maintenance is high, by picking this offer, you will get peace of mind. In this offer All periodic maintenance services are free with parts and material expense Nil, All running repairs Nil and Labour Expense Nil. The only expense you incur for next 3 years is the cost of fuel.

Check your dealer for this Offer and ask if this COO is included in that 10.73lacs? rather ask him COO is included na?
