Dear Anirudh,

You certainly cannot. Until manufacturer provides the same on its own, you are not supposed to fit one. It will void your new car's warranty and we are pretty sure you don't want this. Now if you are too much keen on fuel economy, Optra CNG would be a better choice.

1. yes .... it is possible ..... but

2. it is not legal yet

3. it cud adversely affect th health n life of ur luvly car

4. since civic is a highly advanced car  ....... it wud require an absolute professional to accomplish th job to satisfaction

5. there r serious safety issues related to cng

1. NO ....... lpg is beneficial to th health n life of th engine in comparison to both petrol n cng

2. history is witness ..................when myth transforms into truth ........... it usually must pass thru th grey area called CONFUSION ... n disbelief

u dont hv to believe me ... my friend

first thing first ........... confirm th facts ............ (is anybody disputing that ??)

1. that pressure of lpg is only .......7 kgs / sq cm ............. whereas ....

the pressure of cng is a whopping ........220 kgs / sq cm

2. that for 7 kgs pressure lpg tank is tested by th govt at .... 30 kgs / sq cm  and that for 220 kgs pressure th cng tank is tested at ..... 350 kgs /sq cm

now .........

issue 1. ...... v all kno higher th pressure ..... higher th potential risk ....... but

when th pressure of cng is a phenomal 30 times more than lpg ..... th risk becomes phenomal too

issue2. ..... to give margin for circumstantial, human and mfg errors ........ all pressure vessels r mendatorily tested at pressures MUCH  higher than th pressure they r actually likely to carry ...... th accepted international safety norm is testing at at least 3 times th intended pressure for th vessel for it to b considered reasonably safe (our govt does test lpg at 4 times ) .... th risk of cng is compounded by th fact that cng tank is not even tested at 2 times its pressure !

u dont need to b a genius or an engineer ............... jus ask any qualified person who knows th science of pressures and their risks ..........

how safe or risky is .....

1. ..... presure of 7 kgs in a vessel tested at 30 kgs ...... and

2. .....pressure of 220 kgs in a vessel tested at 350 kgs  ........?
